Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Challenge - May 2016 - Mermaids

It is time for another challenge over at the Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Facebook Group.

The challenge for May 2016 is "Mermaids".

I haven't been well and have not crafted for nearly a month.  I still wanted to play along even though I am not on the Facebook Design Team so I have "pinched" something I'd made as an inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration and Challenge Blog for June.

Here is a mixed media project I have made.  I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Flow Followers" and I have printed the image straight onto Crafter's Companion kraft card and coloured in with Promarkers.  It's not easy colouring on kraft card but I got there in the end.

For the backdrop of my project I used a piece of cardboard which I first painted with white gesso and then my Imagination Crafts Starlight blue paint.  After that was dry I dragged on white gesso to some of the areas with a sponge.

I have finished this project with some netting (which I added some gesso to in parts), die-cut shells, gorgeous pearl brads from a friend, ribbon and some foliage embellishments (using a Stamps by Chloe foliage stamp stamped with a Versamark ink pad onto acetate, white Frantage added, heat embossed and then cut around).
