Technique Week - Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group

Over at the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook Group this week Bonnie (Design Team Leader) is holding a "Technique Week" whereby Design Team members show different techniques throughout the week.

I decided to show various techniques with one embossing folder.  It's easy just to emboss a piece of card and used it in our cards/creations but you can do so much more with embossing folders.
In this first set of images you can see:
  • in the first photo I have used distress markers used to colour the folder before embossing
  • in the second photo I embossed a piece of card, scribbled different shades of yellow/green Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers onto a glass, spritzed, swished the card around in it, left to dry and then I sanded back a bit.
  • In the third photo I rubbed over Tim Holtz's Squeezed Lemonade distress ink before I embossed the piece of card.

In this second set of images you can see:
  • I have embossed the card but on the debossed side I have coloured the image in with alcohol pens
  • I have embossed the card, inked over with Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive and Shabby Shutters distress inks, spritzed and then sprinkled over mica powder for sparkle and shine.
  • I have embossed the card and then I have coloured the image in with Pan Pastels.

Isn't it amazing how differently the embossing looks using different techniques?

Special Christmas Wishes

I am trying to keep ahead with supplies of Christmas cards.  It is sad when we have to keep them as flat as possible due to the cost of posting but there isn't much choice.

For my card I have used an Art by Miran image called "Desi".  I have gone with a colour scheme of traditional Christmas red and green.  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and chalked the background.  I have added some Stickles glitter glue to her fur collar.

I have used a piece of Hunkydory card  which I have had for some years which I was too nice to use so decided the time had come to use it on a card.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut ribbon trim, sentiment from the computer and some gems.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Art by Miran Challenge - Anything goes
Glitter n Sparkle - Anything goes
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything goes
CCC Digi Creations - Use your favourite colour combo (I love to see lots of different colours for Christmas cards but my favourite has to be traditional red and green)

Today it is time for me to show you another card for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.

The topic for February 2016 is "a splash of orange for Henry" ie make something with orange in it.

As mentioned last month there are going to be no sponsors for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.  Instead member of the Design Team will be offering prizes.

Genny is sponsoring February's challenge and her prize will be a £10 voucher to be spent on Joanna Sheen's website.  Now who wouldn't want to win that?
I have used an image and that gorgeous orange zig-zag backing paper from the Gruffies and Happy Hoppers CD.  Doesn't that bunny look chilled out?

I have used the design sheet and used the large topper and two circular toppers on the front of the card and used the rest on the inside and the back of the card.

I have finished the card off with a die-cut sentiment, some gorgeous lace sent to me by a crafty friend in America and a "Say Hello to Summer" sentiment from a paper pad a crafty friend sent me from Holland.

I have finished the pocket letters off with various stamps, Nuvo crystal drops, Craftwork cards die-cut sentiments and a peace of Stampboard which I have coloured, stamped on, coloured and scratched to add some texture.
