Happy Birthday to a Very Special Nephew

Here is a card I have made using my Peerless Designs "Cuddle Upz Vol 1 CD" and I chose the faces of these gorgeous ostriches.  For my card I have used an insert, topper sheet and backing paper from the CD.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Rudolph Bookfolding

A friend bought me the Peerless Designs Christmas Bookfolding CD.  I liked a lot of the images you could do with this bookfolding CD but Rudolph was my favourite so he had to be done first!!

I suffer with problems with my eyes.  It's not that my vision is bad.  It is just that my muscles in my eyes don't move around as they should so I struggle with small writing so as this CD has the image you print out and you just mark the areas for each numbers it is perfect for me.  I did though sometimes get "lost" on where my next number was but I used a magnifier and quickly was on my way.  I found this a lot easier than measuring with a ruler.

I also have problems with nerve damage in my hands and therefore I have trouble feeling things.  Sarah Hallam on Create and Craft gave a tip from a fellow crafter to use card to print out the image.  I tried this but still struggled to feel the edge of the card on the edge of the page of the book.  I had an idea and laid 4 rows of sticky tape along the top edge and it worked a treat and I whizzed through the bookfolding.

I used a Spectrum Noir pen to ink the edges to highlight Rudolph.  I then held together all the pages of his nose together (cruel I know!!) and then brushed over some red glitter glue.  I let go of the pages so that they could dry and this work perfectly to give him a sparkly nose.
I painted the inside and outside of the book and spine with two layers of white gesso.  For the front, back and inside of the book I have used backing papers and design sheets from the Debbi Moore "Cutie Claus and Friends CD".
The book has been finished off with some washi tape, ribbon, doily and die-cut poinsettia.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Penny's Paper Challenge - Anything goes
Create and Inspire - Anything goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes

Sweet Pea Stamps Progressive Challenge Part 1 - Anything goes

It is time for another challenge over at the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Group.  If you enter Part 1 of the challenge you get a free image to use for the second part of the challenge.  You can still enter Part 2 without entering Part 1 but you would need to purchase the image that everyone is using from Sweet Pea Stamps.
For my Halloween card I have used the Sweet Pea Stamps image by Conie Fong called "Priscilla".  She is available as a digital stamp and a rubber stamp.  I have coloured my image in with my Promarkers and fussy cut around the edge.

For the trees background I used a Memory Box stencil called "Garden Birch Trees".  I secured the stencil and then used Dutch Doobadoo stencil paste through it, took the stencil off, sprinkled over some black glitter and left to dry.

The backing papers and card are from my stash.

I have finished the card off with some buttons, twin, scrunched up bat ribbon, sentiment from the computer, Tim Holtz Bigz die-cut flower (6 layers cut from a book and coloured with Tim Holtz's Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot distress ink and held together with a brad) and some Martha Stewart punched out bats.
