Simon Says Challenge - No Designer Paper

Over at the Simon Says Challenge this week the topic is "no designer paper".  This card I have made certainly fits that bill.

For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Sunflower Night" and I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed distress ink.

Onto the papers I have used.

The card at the back has been put through an embossing folder.

The next backing paper I have used a piece of watercolour card, inked areas with Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade distress ink and spritzed water onto the card and left overnight to thoroughly dry.  I then brushed over an anti-static pad before stamping various leaves down the left hand side.  I then used some Dutch Doobadoo texture paste and mixed with some orange mica and pressed through a leaf border mask and a small dot/large dot mask I made myself with my Crop-o-dile.

For the orange and cream mounts I have put the card through a hessian and a leaf embossing folder.

I have finished the card off with a flower (stamped and die-cut using a Sheena Douglass stamp and die), button, lots of punched out leaves, seed beads added to the centres of the sunflowers and a ribbon bow.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Fussy and Fantasy Friday - Fantasy (witch)
Glitter n Sparkle - Punches and die-cuts
A Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything goes
Pile it On - Colour combo

Happy 19th Birthday to a Very Special Son and Brother

Today is our youngest son's 19th birthday but we won't be seeing him as he's off at University in Derby.  We are all so proud of him.

Due to this I had to have his cards made from his brother and my husband and myself early.

His passion in life is basketball but a friend was doing that topic so for the card I did from my husband and myself I used my Creative Crafting World World Wildlife CD with this gorgeous image.  I have used backing papers, sentiment, insert and embellishments off the CD.  The card is finished off with some grosgrain ribbon and some raffia style ribbon.
The card for his brother to give him used a decoupage image from my Crafter's Companion Camden Town Male CD.  I have used the decoupage and backing papers off the CD.  I put some mirri card through my large dots Embossalicious embossing folder and added some card candi to some of the dots.  I have finished the card off simply with some twine and sentiment.

I am entering these cards into the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut Patterned Paper September Challenge - Anything goes
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes or Women's Friendship Day
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything goes
Craft You Passion - Always anything goes
Creative Craft Cottage - Anything goes

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog - Kym's Inspiration Post - Tuesday 22 September 2015

It is time for me to show you my Inspiration Post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "the colours of fall eg browns, greens, yellows and oranges".  Your card DOES NOT have to be Fall/Halloween related but just has to use the colours of fall.
For my inspiration card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamp called "The Perfect Pumpkin".  I have coloured the image and background with Promarkers and I have then stamped around the edge with a spider's web stamp from the Clearly Besotted Stamp Set called "Fright Night".

The backing papers are some freebies from Docrafts and some papers from A Bit More Time to Craft (papers used from Micro Dots, Chains and Vintage).

I have finished the card off with a sentiment off the computer, die-cut flowers with a sequin and brad centre, wide edged ribbon, satin ribbon and a button.

Bookfolding - Travel

Here is another of my Bookfolding Projects using a pattern from my Debbi Moore CD.  Once I had finished the folding I used the width of a tearing ruler to fold against to fold back the spare pages thus making the word "Travel" stand out more.
I prefer to highlight the word/image with either inks or pens and this time I have used a dark brown Spectrum Noir pen to highlight the folded piece of the page.
As the book is associated with "travel" I have used backing papers and images from my Crafter's Companion Summer 2015 Inspiration Magazine to decorate the front, back and spine of the book.
I have finished off the book with some stamped images, grosgrain ribbon and some flowers a friend sent me.

I am entering this bookfolding book into the following challenges:

Fab n Funky - Recycle/upcycle (I have recycled a hardbacked book)
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
Brown Sugar - Anything but a card
Come and Get It Challenge - Travel/vacation
Creative Craft Cottage - Anything goes

Gruffies and Guest Challenge Blog - September 2015 - Anything goes or the option of MAKE IT FRUITY

Today it is time for me to show you another card for the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.

The topic for September 2015 is "anything goes with the option of make it fruity".

Don't forget you do have the option of anything goes plus if you do use the optional theme (this month it is "make it fruity") you will get 2 chances in the prize draw.

Don't forget to enter the challenge you MUST use a House Mouse, Happy Hoppers or Gruffies image.
This month we are very lucky to have Di's Digi Stamps as our sponsor.

They are offering the very lucky winner a $10 gift certificate to spend in the Di's Digi Stamps Store.
For my card I have used this gorgeous mouse in a maraschino cherries jar from the Joanna Sheen House Mouse Triple CD.  That poor mouse will feel ill if he eats the whole jar!!

For for my card I have used one of the design sheets and a backing paper.  The larger image I put inside the card.  The smaller image there were two of so I used this on the front of my card so that I could decoupage the image.  I have added a tag and sentiment from the design sheet.

I have finished the card off with various ribbons, lace, flower from a crafty friend and some pearls.

What is inside the box?

I have used my Debbi Moore Shabby Chic CD and my Crafter's Companion Boxer Board to make this decorated box.  To see what is hidden inside the box you will have to continue reading.  I have used a shell backing paper and various design sheets from the CD and used these elements to decorate the box.

Here is the top of the box along with the beautiful lighthouse decoupage.  The sides of the box have been finished off with shells cut from the backing papers, inked around the edges and added on foam tape.  No the top of the box for some extra dimension and texture I have added some real shells as well.  I have used a brown and yellow Pan Pastel on the top of the box to make it look like sand.

Here are the four sides of the box with elements from the CD.
Now is the reveal as to what is inside the box .............. it is a cover for a box of tissues.  I think this box is certainly nicer to be sitting on a desk or in a drawer instead of the plain and somewhat boring boxes they can come like normally.

I am entering this decorated box into the following challenges:

Love to Create - Anything goes mixed media/creative
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything but a card
Creative Fingers - Anything goes
Polkadoodles - Shabby Chic
