Buckwells Crafty Challenge - Mid Month Inspiration Post

Over at the "Buckwells Crafty Challenge" we have started to give you inspiration posts now throughout the month.

The challenge topic for the Buckwells Crafty Challenge for February is "Love/red".  Of course this could be for Valentine's Day but it could also be for a engagement, wedding or a wedding anniversary.

We have two sponsors this month.
The first sponsor is Kenny K Downloads.
Shop Badge
The second sponsor is "Buckwell Craft Supplies".
For my card I have used the Kenny K image called "Bathing Beauty".  Now who wouldn't like to have a figure like that??  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and stamped around the edge with a star stamp and Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet distress ink.
The backing papers (plain burgundy, script and dotty) are all from the Buckwell Craft Supplies "Love Rush" paper set.

I have finished the card off with some hearts cut from one of the "Love Rush" backing papers and inked around with Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet distress ink, a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment and have used some of my dwindling supply of my white cotton border lace from Buckwell Craft Supplies.

It would be lovely if throughout the month you could pop on over to Buckwells Crafty Challenge to see the inspiration from other Design Team members.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut Patterned Paper February Challenge - Anything goes
Whimsy Stamps - Use a sentiment

Good Luck in Your New Job

My goodness me this virus that I've had now since the week before Christmas is a persistent so-and-so and doesn't want to go.  This card has taken me 1.5 weeks to make.  A friend of mine is starting a new job today.  I wanted her to get this card well ahead of time but this virus has wiped me out.  At least she'll get the card before her first pay packet!!  I wish her all the very best in her new job and thank goodness it will mean no more motorway drives every day for her.

The image I have used is from Faery Ink Designs and is called "Gabbie the Rose Tea Fairy".  I love that this image comes in both JPEG and PNG format and you get a black lines version and a no lines version.  What a bargain for $3.00.

I have coloured my image in with my Promarkers and used a yellow, pink, blender and coarse medium Pan Pastel for the background.  I have added some Stickles glitter glue to the fairy's wings, edge of dress and the hearts on the tea-cup.

The blue backing papers are from The Works and are a 8x8 set for £3.00.  It is wonderful value.  I bought a pink one recently and prefer the combinations in that pack whereby you get two of each paper whereas this blue pack you only get one of each paper.  The patterned pink card is from Hunkydory.  I have inked around the edge of all the papers and the image with either Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet or Chipped Sapphire distress ink.

I have finished the card off with some crochet ribbon, pearls, wired edged ribbon that I have pleated, sentiment off the computer, button, 10mm pink gingham ribbon, white spiral stamen (inked with a pink chalk ink pad), white Cosmos daisies (which I have inked with a pink chalk ink pad) and two shades of pink Sweetheart Blossoms.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Passion for Promarkers - Perfect pearls
Papertake Weekly - BINGO board ( I have gone for the diagonal line of ribbon, free (image) and blooms)
Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Crafting by Designs - BINGO board (I have gone for the top horizontal row of lace, glitter and pearls)

Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes

Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook - Progressive Challenge Part 1

Over at the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Group they have another Progressive Challenge.  Part 1 is anything goes and if you enter that part you then get the image free to use for the second part of the challenge.  Obviously if you don't manage to take part in Part 1 of the challenge you can always buy the image for Part 2 so you can play along.
The image I have used from Sweet Pea Stamps is by Karen Middleton and called "Art Nouveau Two".  It is available as a digital stamp.

I have coloured my image in with my Graph'it pens and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed and Crushed Olive distress inks.  I have highlighted areas with an orange Stickles glittler glue.

The green spotty backing paper was from my stash.  I put a plain white piece of card through the large dots Embossalicious embossing folder, added a Martha Stewart punched edge to one side and inked over with Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed and Rusty Hinge distress ink.

I have used my Buckwells "Micro Dots" and "Fun" to make my flowers.  Personally I hate to see flowers on cards where you can see a plain white underside.  Although my flowers here you can't really see the underside - unless you lift the petals - I always print another paper on the back of the paper.  I have inked all the edges with Rusty Hinge distress ink, shaped them with a ball tool and an embossing mat and held them together with a brad.

I have finished the card off with some die-cut butterflies (inked with Mustard Seed and Rusty Hinge distress inks and orange distress Stickles glitter glue added to the centre of the butterflies), 25mm Veletta ivory textured ribbon, 25mm gold organza ribbon, die-cut sentiment and a button.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - Anything goes
The Pink Elephant - Birthday (congratulations to all those involved with The Pink Elephant Challenge Blog.  What an achievement to celebrate your 6th birthday.  Long may it continue)
Fan-tastic Tuesday - Anything goes with a twist to use a die on your card (die used for butterflies and flowers)
Digi Choosday - Spring colours (I always think of spring of things like daffodils ie yellow and green.  The title of your challenge says "springtime pastels" but the challenge information says "spring colours" so please remove if it is actually "springtime pastels")
Creative Card Crew - Birthday with a sentiment
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes or optional sketch
Creative Fingers - Anything goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything goes

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog - Kym's Inspiration Post - Monday 16 February 2015

It is Monday and therefore time for me to show you an inspiration post for the Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.
For this weeks' inspiration post I was given the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamp called "Moon Journey" to work with.  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and then used my Graph'it blending solution and a make-up sponge and dabbed over the moon to give it a speckle effect.  I coloured areas of the image three times so that I could decoupage the image for more dimension.

I knew I wanted to fussy cut the image - not an easy one to do - so I added some Crafter's Companion Sparkle and Shine prior to cutting to give more stability.  I have added Stickles Glitter glue to the mermaid and the moon.  I have replaced the chain in the image with real chains (I've pooped a piece of tape, which has now been removed, so that you can see it is actual chain that has been used where the image had a chain designed into it).
I painted this door hanger some while ago with a purple acrylic paint.  I added some Cosmic Shimmer crackle paint and left it to dry overnight as it didn't want to dry.  I then painted over some turquoise acrylic paint and again left overnight.  There are some crackles but not as much as I would have liked.

I have finished this mixed media hanger that will hang on my "seaside theme" craft room wall with some flowers from a wonderful crafty friend in Canada, sating ribbon, pearls, real shells, Marianne Designs die-cut oval frame, Marianne Designs die-cut shells, Marianne Designs foliage die-cut, netting, sentiment from a Debbi Moore magazine and a little bottle filled with blue and purple seed beads.

I am entering this mixed media creation into the following challenges:

Suzy Bee's Blooming Challenge - Anything goes with a twist to add a bow
Di's Digi Designs - Lots of embellishments (flowers, pearls, bow, die-cuts, chain, shells, seed beads and glass bottle)
Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Creative Inspiration - Anything goes or optional sketch (congratulations to Creative Inspirations for their 300th challenge - what an amazing achievement)
As You Like It - Favourite CAS or fussy and why (when making cards to post I am restrained as to what I make because of the cost of posting.  For cards that I make that I can hand deliver I like to go fussy and add lots of embellishments/lots of layers.  The same goes if I make any mixed media creations as I think that lots of layers/lots of embellishments can add texture and dimension)
Brown Sugar Challenge - Use a bow and a die-cut
Creative Fingers - Anything goes
Simply Create Too - Anything goes
Scribble and Scrap - Always anything goes
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes and optional twist RAK Day
Not Just Cards - Anything goes
Love to Scrap - Anything goes
Crafty Boots - Use a sentiment
Craft Your Passion - Always anything goes
Bunny Zoe's - For the girls
