Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps and Inspiration Blog - Post by Kym - Monday 27 October 2014

The ever so talented Ching-Chou Kuik has an Etsy Store where she sells her digital stamps.  She had a Design Team call for some new crafters to join her Design Team to help promote her stunning images.  I was lucky enough to be chosen.

Since then an "Inspiration and Monthly Challenge Blog" has been set up and I have now got the role of Design Team Leader.

There will be a monthly challenge on the blog starting on the 1st day of every month.

Every few days you will see inspiration from the Design Team.  On some days we will be showcasing cards that are entered into the challenge as well as cards/creations posted on the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Facebook Group.  You will also see details of new releases or offers.
Today is the day for me to show you my inspiration card.

For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik digital stamp called "Big Pumpkin".  I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens and used my Cosmic Shimmer Shimmer Pearl Glaze over the pumpkin for some sparkle and shine.  The image has then been fussy cut.

The graveyard and bat scene is a freebie from Bird's Cards called "Graveyard Card Cover".  She puts these templates free on her blog for people to use with their digital die-cutting machines.  I don't have one of these so I had to do it by hand.  It wasn't easy but I like the shadow effect of the orange layer underneath the black.  I have cut the template out of some linen effect card.  The bottom layer I have inked with Tim Holtz's Rusty Hinge distress ink.  The top layer and the mount I have brushed over with my black Pan Pastel.  I have painted all over the templates and mounts with the Cosmic Shimmer Shimmer Pearl Glaze from Buckwell Craft Supplies and it's given it a wishy-washy effect which looks a bit spooky.

I have finished the card off by rubbing some white Pan Pastel onto the black background for moody/spooky clouds and added a sentiment that I typed on the computer.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown - Halloween colours
Scrap-creations - Halloween projects
The Paper Shelter - Halloween

Glitter, glitter everywere!!!

Over at the I love Promarkers Challenge Blog the topic this week is "no patterned papers".
I had some lovely white wide net from Buckwell Crafts Supplies and since I got I knew what I wanted to try out again so this challenge prompted me to do it.

I cut a piece of card and cut a piece of double-sided sticky paper and adhered one side to the card.  I then removed the top layer and cut a piece of the white wide net and placed on top.  Next I poured over some silver glitter and used the top layer of the sticky paper to push the glitter in well.  I removed the excess and tapped for a while to remove any more glitter.  I then removed the piece of netting (which of course can be used for more projects) and then poured over some fine white glitter and again pushed it in well and then removed the excess.  What you are left with is a lovely glittery piece of card and sparkly glitter around your work area if you are anything like me!!

The image that I have used for my card is called "Ashleigh" and is from Crafter's Companion Scruffy Little Cat series.  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Milled Lavender distress ink.

I have just done some simple matting and layering with lilac and silver card and finished the card off with a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment and some gems.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

I Love Promarkers - No patterned papers
Digi Choosday - Birthdays
The Stamping Chef - Anything goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
Brown Sugar Challenge - Anything goes
Creative Fingers - Anything goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything goes

Delicious Doodles Challenge - Friday 24 October 2014 - Halloween

It is time for another challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog.  The topic for this weeks' challenge is "Halloween".
For my card suitable to give to any child that calls at the door for Halloween I have used the Delicious Doodles image called "Halloweenie - Crazy Chemist".  I am not sure why but when I'd printed him out he just shouted the colour green to me.  I hate the colour green so you won't see it used very often as a main colour on my blog but I think he suits being green.  I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens.

For my Halloween card I have used the Bearly Mine Designs paper sets called "Halloween Fantasy" and "Christmas Traditions".

I have finished the card off with a spider's web border made with a Martha Stewart punch, green and white twine, "Happy Halloween" sentiment made on the computer, "I put a spell on you" freebie sentiment from Kenny K and some Martha Stewart punched out bats.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
