On Your Birthday

Here is a card I have made - my first one in nearly five weeks since my operation - using an image by the ever so talented Ching-Chou Kuik.  It was her images some years back drew me to Sweet Pea Stamps.  She has a wide diversity of stamps that she sells as digital stamps and rubber stamps at Sweet pea Stamps but Ching-Chou Kuik also has her own Etsy store where she has some of her digital stamps for sale.  I used the Etsy store yesterday and loved that as soon as you paid the images were available to download - perfect!!  This image is called "Dark Lillies" and can be found here for the digital stamp and here for the rubber stamp.

I have coloured the digital image in with my Graph'it pens and highlighted areas with my Graph'it gold sparkle pen to add a bit of sparkle.  I have distressed around the edges with Tim Holtz's Dusty Concord distress ink.

The purple honeycomb style backing paper I have used is from Summertime Designs.  I recently won a challenge where the sponsor was Marianne Designs.  The prize was a surprise when it came but it made me laugh.  I'd seen people use a honeycomb embossing folder and die and my prize was a gorgeous stamp and a honeycomb embossing folder with a die.  A piece of plain white card was put into the embossing folder and then I distressed around the edges with Tim Holtz's Milled Lavender and Dusty Concord distress ink.  I then used the die with a scrap of the backing paper so I could inlay the hexagon shapes into the embossing folder.  I have done some faux stitching around the edge of the embossing folder and the image.

I have finished the card off with a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, raffia ribbon, button and some gorgeous organza ribbon (a friend is opening her on-line craft store soon and this ribbon will be sold there.  It is the best quality organza ribbon I've had for many years now).
