Tropical Masquerade by Delicious Doodles

Here is a card I have made using one of Delicious Doodles' new images called "Tropical Masquerade".  Isn't she stunning?  I have coloured the image in with my trusty Graph'it pens.  I didn't have quite the right colour blue/green for the feathers so I used my Graph'it blending palette, blending fluid and blender pen and made my own.

The two patterned backing papers I have used are from a DCWV Rockstar paper pad I bought recently.  Years ago I would never have done stamping on a piece of patterned paper or emboss it but I love to do it these days.  It's amazing how your crafting views can change over the years isn't it?  I have used a Sheena Douglass feather stamp, Flitter glu and my copper guilding flakes.  I love using guilding flakes but I get in so much of a mess even with using an anti-static bag applied to my fingers.  I think I must produce too much static.  I used the feather stamp just around the edge of the patterned blue papers.  I then die-cut some birds by Robert Addams and some feathers by Spellbinders, sponged them over with Flitter glu and the copper guilding flakes so they matched.

I have finished the card off with two different ribbons, dew drops, die-cut birds and feathers, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment and a gorgeous paper ribbon bow by the very talented Michele of Michele R Designs (she recently gave away some freebies and this sheet of bows was one of them.  She designs some really yummy papers but what I like is that she also does embellishments/flowers/bows etc to match that you can purchase as well.  I like this as I make cards for charity I cannot afford to buy shop bought flowers/embellishments etc a lot of the time.  Printing ones off also means that they definitely match the project you are doing as well.  Make sure you go and have a look at Michele's Etsy Store).
