Over at the Digi Choosday Challenge this week the topic is "ovals". Despite not having an oval die or template I decided to make an oval card. It proved quite difficult but that's what a challenge is for!!!
For my card I have used a Polkadoodles image from the gorgeous CD called "Bonbon Belles". It is a pre-coloured image which I have printed onto canvas paper and fussy cut around the image. I have layered the image onto two pieces of card that I have die-cut, embossed with an embossing folder and then inked with Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet distress ink.
The backing papers I have used are from the Bearly Mine Designs Set called "Cheery Days". I have distressed round the edge of the card with my Tim Holtz distressing tool and then inked with Victorian Velvet distress ink.
I have finished off the card with some raffia ribbon, lace bow, pearls, buttons, die-cut sentiment and die-cut bunting and flowers (I have used a die for the flowers and a punch for the stamen centres) which have all been distressed with Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet distress ink.
I kept the oval up tallways which meant when it was finished it was rolling over so I had to make a stand. Here in this photo you can see it stands up perfectly now!!!

ReplyDeleteSo glad you weren't put off by the fact you don't have an oval die Kym - this looks soooo good! Love the image and must admit to using these CDs myself (my number one faves!) Great choice of coloured papers and embellishments - such detail in here. The flower die is particularly gorgeous.
