Just a reminder

Delicious Doodles images can be found in the Delicious Doodles Store.  There is a vast array of wonderful images there.

If you prefer images that are on the darker side these can be found at the Delicious Darkness Store.

There is also a weekly Delicious Doodles challenge.  Pop on over to the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog EVERY FRIDAY to see what the new what the new challenge is and to see the Design Team inspiration.  You don't have to use a Delicious Doodles image to enter but you get an extra entry to win the weekly prize if you do so that is a good incentive!!

If you use Facebook then there is both a Delicious Doodles Facebook Group and a Delicious Darkness Facebook Group where you can add the creations you make using Delicious Doodles images and there is sometimes competitions as well.

Every month there is a new challenge over at the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.  

To enter the challenge you must use a House Mouse, Gruffies or Happy Hoppers image.

Pop on over to the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog to see the topic of the challenge and to see inspiration from the Design Team.

The Design Team on the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog is split up into two teams.  Team A will show you their creations on the 1st day of the month.  Team B will show you their creation on the 15th day of the month.  This means that there is a good excuse to pop on over to the Challenge Blog at least twice a month to see the inspiration from the Design Team.

Home Sweet Home

I am hoping that this new home card has arrived safely to a very special friend.  I have used Joanna Sheen's Holly Pond Hill CD for this card.  I have used backing papers, toppers and inserts off the CD.  I have decoupaged up the image.

I have made the flowers out of tissue paper.  This time I stamped the tissue paper with a script stamp before die-cutting the scallop circle.  This was easier than I did last time of stamping after die-cutting.  The flower layers have been scrunched up and then the layers are held together with brads.

I have finished the card off with a Tonic butterfly die-cut, ribbon, Gorjuss wooden key coloured blue with a Promarker, gems and a sentiment off the CD.

Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge - Saturday 26 April 2014

I am pleased to say that most weeks I am managing to make a Christmas card - well one is better than none and certainly better than a manic rush come October/November/December time.

The challenge over at the Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge this week is "festive food and/or drink".  I have used some die-cut decoupage a friend bought me for Christmas.  It was from DoCrafts and came with backing paper, sentiments, ribbons and self-adhesive letters.  It's a gorgeous set as it includes some non-traditional images but what I like most is that it is all printed onto linen effect paper which makes it look so nice.  

I normally struggle with smaller bits of die-cut decoupage and getting the adhesive on.  Due to the cost of postage I either use 1mm high foam pads or double-sided tape.  You get the effect of decoupage but not the height.  I had a brainwave and thought about turning over the decoupage sheet and sticking the adhesive on the back before pushing the pieces out of the backing piece.  It made such a difference and made the whole process so much easier that I shall whizz through putting the rest of the sheets together.  All I will say, why didn't I think of that sooner???

I have used a free Christmas embossing folder border on an edge of card.  I have inked around this and the topper with my Tim Holtz Festive Berries distress ink.

I have finished the card off with a sentiment from the decoupage sheet and some peel-off gems.

Top Tip Tuesday - Paper piecing or Top Tip - TOP TIP ONLY - turn over a piece of die-cut decoupage and if you are using double-sided tape or foam pads to do the decoupage put it on the pieces of die-cut decoupage before pushing out of the sheet.  This makes such a difference as it is a whole lot easier putting the adhesive on with the piece held in place.  I just wish I'd thought of it sooner!!

Birthday Wishes

Here is a card that I have made using a stamp by Stamp Addicts of this gorgeous elephant.  I have used the following colours:

Elephant - using shades of grey Graph'it pens (9101, 9103, 9105 and 9502)

Greenery on the image - 8260 and 8270 Graph'it pens

Grass and sky - green Pan Pastel for the grass and blue Pan Pastel for the sky.

The backing papers I was given.  I have finished the card off with a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiments, sequins with brad centres, Marianne Designs Anja corner and leafy embellishment with Stickles added and some washi tape.

Delicious Doodles Challenge - Friday 25 April 2014 - Pink and girly for Breast Cancer Awareness

 It is Friday and therefore time for another challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog.  This week the topic is "pink and girly for Breast Cancer Awareness".

This was certainly a challenge for me.  When I was growing up everything I had was pink or red but over the last 15-20 years I haven't like pink or red any more - strange eh?  I will sometimes use red in crafting but I don't use pink much.

For my card I have used the gorgeous Delicious Doodles image called "Valentina".  I have coloured the image in with my Graph'it pens and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Aged Mahogany distress ink.

The backing papers are from my beloved Tim Holtz paper pad my son got me for Christmas some years ago.  I spent a long time not being able to use them as they are so nice but now I have the problem there aren't many left!!  On one of the backing papers and the doily I have stamped with the Visible Image stamp called "Grunge Flourish" with a Versamark ink pad and then heat embossed with a pink embossing powder.  I normally use a silver, gold or white embossing powder but love the effect of the pink.  

I have finished the card off with some raffia ribbon, wooden heart embellishment coloured with a Papermania pink pearlescent pen, pink flowers with some Stickles added to them, pearls, gems and a die-cut sentiment.

One VERY pink creation!!!

Bearly Mine Inspiration and Challenge Blog - Monthly Inspiration by Kym - April 2014

Hello it is Kym here and today it is my turn to show you an inspirational project for the Bearly Mine Inspiration and Challenge Blog.

Here is a card I have made using a Stitchy Stamp image called "Butterfly Love".  I have coloured her with my Promarkers and then highlighted areas with my new Graph'it white pen - love this!!!  Around the image I have made a cloud effect with a template I've made and a pink Pan Pastel.

  

The backing papers I have used are from Bearly Mine Designs Gingham and Plain and Simple sets.  On the "Plain and Simple" paper I have used a Sheena Douglass distress stamp.  On the "Gingham" paper I have used a Visible Image star stamp from my "Jake Skates" stamp set.

I have finished the card off with lots of Bearly Mine Designs freebie flowers cut out with Papermania Glitterations for the centres, a few feathers and a sentiment from my Perfect Papercrafting Companions CD.

Off to the seaside ................

For this card I have gone for a male themed card.  

I have used various Delicious Doodles images - Sunset at Sea, Deckchair, Ice-cream Sundae and Driftwood Border.  I have coloured all the images in with my Promarkers.  I have fussy cut around the driftwood border, inked with Tim Holtz's Gathered Twigs distress ink and then rubbed over my gold metallic Pan Pastel over the sand in the picture, around the driftwood frame and the dotty card (made with a large dotty Embossalicious embossing folder).

The backing papers I have used are from the paper pad called "The Seaside" by Crafty Individuals.  I love this paper pad.

I have finished the card off with some Marianne Designs die-cut shells and anchor, 3D tag sticker and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

Here come some mermaids ..................

Here are two cards that I made some time ago but never posted on my blog.

 The first card uses an image called "Flowers on the Beach" by Conie Fong.  It is available as a digital image at Sweet Pea Stamps.  I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Old Paper and Chipped Sapphire distress inks.

The backing papers I have used are from the paper pad called "The Seaside" by Crafty Individuals.  I have again inked around the edges with Tim Holtz's Chipped Sapphire distress ink.

I have finished this card off with some Marianne Designs die-cut shells which I have inked with Tim Holtz's Old Paper distress ink, doily, ric-rac ribbon, flowers (with sequin and brad centres and inked with Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet distress ink) and a die-cut sentiment.

The second card is using a Sweet Pea Stamps Ching-Chou Kuik image called "Caribbean Treasure".  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers.

The backing papers are from my stash.  My little skulls are from a stamp set from Visible Image.  I love their stamp sets as you get a main image and lots of other little ones to accent a card.  This skull comes from the set called "Max Rocks".  Make sure you pop on over to the Visible Image Shop to have a look at their wonderful stamps.  I have coloured the skulls with a Pastel Beige Promarker and then coloured over the top with a silver glittery Graph'it pen.

The card has been finished off with some raffia ribbon (which was purple but I painted with white gesso), die-cut sentiment and a Marianne Designs die-cut anchor which I have coloured with a Pastel beige Promarker and coloured over the top with a silver glittery Graph'it pen.

Gruffies and Guest Challenge - April 2014 - Anything goes with the option of lovely lace

 On 1 April 2014 the new challenge started over at the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.

As I mentioned at the start of this challenge there has been a change over at the Gruffies and Guests Challenge Blog.  

We would prefer to see all your House Mouse, Gruffies and Happy Hoppers creations but felt that you were not entering challenges because you didn't have anything suitable for the topic.  

We are now an "Anything Goes Challenge" each month but there is an optional twist for those that prefer a more specific challenge topic.  If you enter using the "optional twist" you get two entries into the challenge.

The topic for the whole for the month is "anything goes with the optional twist to use lovely lace".

For my card I have used the Joanna Sheen House Mouse Project CD and chose these little characters having fun with lemons and limes.  I have taken the photograph at a strange angle to show that I have layered up the decoupage.  I have done some simple matting and layering using a backing paper from the CD and also put some card through a large dots embossing folder.  I have made some flowers by die-cutting flowers from a book and colouring with Tim Holtz's Mustard Seed and Shabby Shutters distress inks and the flowers are held together with brads.

I have finished the card off with some lace, doily, sentiment off the CD and some gems.
