Sweet Pea Stamps

Don't forget Sweet Pea Stamps can be bought from the Sweet Pea Stamps Shop.

Sweet Pea Stamps also has a:

Sweet Pea Stamps Design Team Blog - where there is daily inspiration for everyone to see

monthly challenge over at the "One Sweet Challenge"

Facebook page called "Sweet Pea Stamps" where you will see cards posted on the Design Team Blog and find out about new releases/sales

Facebook Group called "Sweet Pea Stamps Friends and Fans" and you can join the Group and look at wonderful creations, gain tips/ideas and to have a natter.

I am on the Design Team for the Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge.  This fortnightly challenge blog is run independently from Sweet Pea Stamps but Lynette kindly offers one digital image for the Random.org winner and one digital image for the winner that is chosen by the Design Team from those that use a Sweet Pea Stamps image.

Over in the Sweet Pea Stamps Shop there is a new addition - "Random Act of Kindness".  You can "send a friend a gift" for no specific reason ie just because, as a thank you or just to cheer someone up.  It means that you can send a gift voucher and the recipient can pick out a digital stamp of their own choice. It is a simple and an inexpensive way to show a "Random Act of Kindness".

Please enter:  "gift" in the coupon section at checkout. This will take off the shipping charge. We will then send them the voucher that they can use to pick out their digi.

The "Random Act of Kindness" MUST be ordered separately if ordering rubber stamps, as the shipping will need to be adjusted.

Come and join in the Sweet Pea Stamps fun!!!

Delicious Doodles Challenge - 25 October 2013 - Halloween/something scary!!!

Today is the day for another challenge over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog.  The challenge for this week is "Halloween/something scary!!".
Well I decided to come well out of my comfort zone.  Teri designs some wonderful images but I tend to steer clear most of the time from the darker images/scary ones.  Not this time - I've gone for some of the scariest of the lot and put them together!!!

For my card I have used the images "Horrorscope - Aquarius", "Hungreeeeee!", "Horrorscope - Virgo" and the "Pile O Bones" paper.  The images have been coloured in with my Promarkers/Flexmarkers and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Black Soot distress ink.  The paper I have used a bright red Pan Pastel in places and gone over the top with Glossy Accents to look like blood - yuk!!  I have finished the card off with some fibres and some peel-offs.

Well I have certainly challenged myself with this one - but that's a challenge isn't it???

I have coloured "Priscilla" in with my Promarkers and inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot distress ink.  The backing papers I have are from Summertime Designs.  The star and bat backing paper was more of a yellow so I distressed them with Tim Holtz's distress ink pad.  I have finished the card off with some orange mesh which I have held in place with some spiral clips and a sentiment off the computer.

Sweet Pea Stamps Artist of the Week October 2013 - Brigid Ashwood

It is "Artist of the Week" time over at Sweet Pea Stamps.  This is when an artist is showcased on the Sweet Pea Stamps Blog for a week by members of the Design Team.  The "Artist of the Week" for October 2013 is the ever so talented Brigid Ashwood.
Brigid Ashwood's images are available only as rubber stamps at Sweet Pea Stamps.  For my card I have used the image called "Darja".  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers/Flexmarkers.  I have inked around the image with my Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet and Tumbled Glass distress inks and added some pearl dots.

For my card I have used a new CD called "Perfect Papercrafting Companions" by Creative Crafting World.  On it there are 75 different colours with backing papers/sentiments/alphabets to match which means you can easily match it up to your coloured in image/pre-coloured toppers etc.  If only there were inserts as well as that would make it totally complete.  I have used a plain pink/spotty pink and a plain blue/gingham blue to match the image.  I have finished the card off with some die-cuts, doily, raffia ribbon, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment and Card Candi.

For my card I have used the Robyn's Fetish image called "Bella da Snowlady".  I love Christmas cards with snowmen on but it was nice to see this snowlady.  I have coloured my image in with my Promarkers/Flexmarkers/Blender pen.  I have then added some Polar White Flowersoft for some snow, cuffs of her sleeves and bobble on her hat.

Charmaine Flannery - Dragonfly Fairy

Here is a card I have made using an image from a new artist at Sweet Pea Stamps, Charmaine Flannery.  She has allowed us to use such wonderful images.  For my card I have used her image called "Dragonfly Fairy".  It is available as a digital stamp and a single rubber stamp.

I have coloured the image in with my new Graph'it pens.  I do love these pens especially with the brush nibs on some of my most used colours.  I have inked around the edge with Tim Holtz Festive Berries distress ink.  A friend bought me this for my birthday and I love the richness of this red - gorgeous!!.  The backing papers are from my stash and I have inked around them with Festive Berries distress ink along with a Spellbinders Grande die-cut which a friend cut for me.
I have used my clear Wink of Stella pen and gone over the dragonfly wings.  You can't see the full sparkle in the photograph but it's wonderful.  I still love my Stickles but sometimes it's nice to have just a bit of sparkle and I found that if I did a big area like this with my Sakura Stardust clear pen I would see scratch marks even if I coloured in tiny areas or in circles.  With the Wink of Stella pen you paint on the sparkle with a brush.

I have finished the card off with my Joanna Sheen Signature die of a dragonfly (It comes is a set of three small dies - 2 butterflies and 1 dragonfly for £4.99.  Butterflies are so common as dies but this is the first time I had a seen a dragonfly and had to have it) which I have used my Wink of Stella on top of it for some sparkle, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, gingham ribbon and some gems.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Inspire me Friday - Anything goes
Use it Tuesday - All creatures great and small (my using up stash is some backing papers I was given 1-2 years ago and some gems (I normally tend to use 4 so these 2 lonely gems have been sat around for a year or so)
Tuesday Throwdown - Creepy crawlies
Stamping Sensations - All creatures great and small
Inklings and Yarn - Anything goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes

I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers/Flexmarkers and inked around the edge with my Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot distress ink.

The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Gingham, Mini Dots and Plain and Simple.  I have finished the card off with some Marianne Designs die-cuts which I have inked with Black Soot distress ink, ribbon, glitter peel-offs, flowers made out of the same backing paper used for the card and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.
