Here is a card I have made using a Sweet Pea Stamps image by Ching-Chou Kuik called "Iris Grace". This image is available as a digital stamp, single rubber stamp and as part of a multi-image plate (Sheet 53, Plate 248 - Iris Grace comes on the multi-image sheet with Tropical Queen, Bird of Paradise and Sparkling Angel).
The image I have coloured in with Promarkers/Flexmarkers, highlighted areas with my Sakura Stardust clear pen and distressed around with Tim Holtz's Brushed Corduroy distress ink.
I used a Spellbinders scalloped circle to cut the aperture out of the front of the card. I then cut out the same shape from a piece of corrugated brown card. It took a few times to get it to cut as it was quite thick but it did it in the end. I then painted the die-cut shape with some acrylic paint and then distressed. I tried using some acrylic paint a few years ago and bought some. I don't cope with smells well at all and although I painted the item outside and left it in the garage for some days when I came to use the heart shaped box I had to throw it away after a few days as the smell was still lingering and making me bad. Why oh why do some things have to smell so bad? I love the effect of the Crafter's Companion sparkle sprays but even after doing outside and leaving in the garage it smells too bad for me. The same goes for the Creative Expressions guilding waxes - lovely idea but such a strong overbearing smell that made me cough so much I've not had them out since!!!
The backing papers I have used in conjunction with kraft card are from the Polkadoodles Double Sprinkles of Kraft Cd-Rom. The the papers/embellishments have been distressed with Tim Holtz's Brushed Corduroy distress ink. The card has been finished off with various die-cut shaped, peel-off sentiment and flowers with peel-off circle centres.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:

So very pretty! Wonderful color combo!
ReplyDeleteSmashing project. I've never really had a problem with acrylics - there's an eco range which may smell less strongly
