Delicious Doodles Challenge - Friday 31 May 2013 - White-on-white

Another week has whizzed around and it's time for another challenge over at Delicious Doodles.  This week the challenge is "white-on-white".
Normally white-on-white challenges make me "run for the hills" but I got a pile of white card out and set to play.  Personally I think it's important when doing a white-on-white card is to use the same cardstock throughout as not many white cards are the same.  To get some texture and dimension I have used various embossing folders and dies and added some sparkle to the layers with Imagination Crafts Diamond Sparkle.  I used to use Stickles glitter glue for this but with this being an 8x8 card it would have used a good amount of a bottle.  With the Diamond Sparkle it looks like I've barely used anything and only had to get messy and glittery!!

The image that I have used for this card is by Delicious Doodles and is called "A Mother's Love".  It's such a gorgeous image.  I have coloured in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with my white gel pen.  The card has been finished off with some raffia ribbon, die-cut buttons and real buttons, sentiment off the computer and some seam binding ribbon.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

ABC Challenge - O for open
Simon Says - Anything goes
Crafting by Designs - Anything goes
Ruby's Rainbow - baby

I Love Promarkers - Dies but no punches

Bearly Mine Challenge - 28 May 2013 - Colour Challenge

It's Tuesday and time for another challenge over at the Bearly Mine Challenge Blog.  This time the challenge is a "Colour Challenge" and you have to use the colours below.
This week are sponsors are Alota Rubber Stamps and Little Darlings Rubber Stamps:

Well the choice of colours for this challenge nearly made me "run for hills" but I got there in the end and came up with this card for the challenge - warning you might need your sunglasses on for this one:
For my card I have used the Little Darlings Rubber Stamp called "What a Sweetheart" and coloured her in with my Promarkers, added highlights with my white gel pen and fussy cut around the image.

For my card I have used papers from the Bearly Mine Designs Floral Dreams, Bearly Mine Designs Spring Surprise and Bearly Mine Designs The Boys Zone and used them for matting and layering/using as die-cut.  I have finished the card off with some Bearly Mine Design freebie flowers, wired leaves, die-cut doily, pearls, lace. ribbon and Craftwork cards die-cut sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Creative Belli - Flowers (my old and forgotten embellishments are my wired leaves.  I often put flowers on my cards but don't very often put leaves as well so it's a long time since I've used them)
Fab n Funky - Ribbon and/or lace
I Love Promarkers - Anything goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
Crafty Ribbons - Anything goes with ribbon
Cute Card Thursday - Tie it up (I've tied a ribbon bow)

Blaming each other for our spending!!!

I saw this gorgeous card that Lozzy had made and just had to have this Sweet Pea Stamps image by Karen Middleton called "Little Pink Fairie" - and it so happens that one of my cards that I made earlier this month using the Sweet Pea Stamps image called "Serenity" by Concetta Kilmer caused Lozzy to buy the image and make this beautiful card - well it's nice to blame others on our spending isn't it????

Sweet Pea Stamps image called "Little Pink Fairie" by Karen Middleton is available in a rubber stamp and a digital stamp and the image called "Serenity" by Concetta Kilmer is available in a rubber stamp and a digital stamp.

I have coloured the image with my Promarkers, added Stickles to the fairy wings and added a cloudy background with a handmade template and a blue Pan Pastel and fine tool.  The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Rose's Dream, Mini Dots (underneath the image), Love's Dream (for the flowers) and Spring Surprise.

I have distressed all the papers with a chalk ink pad.  The image is laying on top of a Tonic doily die-cut that was made from a piece of free Coredinations that came with an embossing folder.  I have sanded it to distress it.  The card has been finished off with some raffia ribbon, flowers made from punches with pearls centres and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Whoopsi Daisy - May flowers
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything goes
Passion for Promarkers - Anything goes

One Very Happy Crafter!!!!!

Sweet Pea Stamps recently held a Design Team Call.  I decided to get some more information as I am slightly (well more than slightly) addicted to Sweet Pea Stamps and put in my application.  I knew there would be so many wonderful crafters entering but I hoped I would be successful.  To my absolute DELIGHT I have been invited to join their Design Team and I am over the moon.

To celebrate becoming a member of their Design Team I decided to create something - well it was one item but then turned into two - but can you guess what they are?
For my creations I have used the Sweet Pea Stamps digital image by Rebecca Sinz called "Forget me Not".  I have used the digital version but if you prefer an actual rubber stamp that is available as well.  She is available as a single stamp but she also comes as part of Rebecca Sinz's Sheet #14, Plate #242.  In the plate option she comes with the other gorgeous images called Bleeding Hearts, Deadly Night Shade and Sweet Pea.
I have to admit that I wasn't sure of these images and those like them with only the faces but they have grown on me and are now one of my favourites.
Now have you guessed what these creations are?  Well as you can see below they are two wine bottle covers and I got a bottle of fizzy wine out of the cupboard to show you how they look on a bottle - certainly better than popped into a carried bag to give as a present.
For this wine bottle cover I have printed the template onto some backing papers from Summertime Designs.  I have printed on both sides.  The image I have coloured in with my Promarkers.  I have embellished with various die-cut elements and finished off with a sparkly swirl, gems and a button for the middle of the flower.
For this wine bottle cover I have printed again onto papers from Summertime Designs on both sides.  The image I have coloured in with my Promarkers.  I have embellished with various die-cut elements and finished off with a a doily inked with Tim Holtz's Broken China distress ink pad, sparkly swirl, gems and a button for the middle of the flower.

Before you ask - no I didn't open the fizzy stuff?  I just used it for demonstration purposes.

I am entering these creations into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments Challenge - 23 May 2013 - Use the word "friend" on your card/project

It's the start of another challenge at the Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog.  This fortnight the challenge is to "use the word "friend" on your card/creation".
This fortnight we are being sponsored by StampArt Design by Kathryne.
For both of my cards that I am showing I have used the StampArt Design image called "Gracie".  She's a beauty isn't she??  For my first card I have coloured the image in with Promarkers and highlighted areas with my Sakura Stardust clear pen.
The backing paper I have used is from the Bearly Mine Designs set called "Floral Surprise".  It's quite a loud backing papers but I really like it and have toned it with plain card stock matting and layering.  The sentiment is also from StampArt Design and comes as a bonus if you buy the image called "Little Bear Watering Can Friend".  The card has been finished off with some lace and paper roses.
It's amazing how the same image can look so different.  Again I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers.
The backing paper I have used this time is Bearly Mine Designs Floral Surprise.  I have finished this card off with some washi tape which I have pleated, sentiment again from StampArt Design, feather and some flowers made with some scraps of Tim Holtz paper which I have die-cut/scrunched/inked and held together with brads.

The Harbour Scene - Delicious Doodles

All being well come the week-end Teri should have this image in the Delicious Doodles Shop.  Isn't it amazing?  It's called "Harbour Scene".  All I will say is that I wish I was there now!!!  This would be fantastic for male cards - especially seeing it's Father's Day on 16 June 2013 - but being a female I would truly love something made with this image.

One Image and Two Completely Different Cards

For both of these cards I have used the Sweet Pea Stamps digital imaged called "Sweet Pea" by Rebecca Sinz.  I decided to make both cards Spring-like.  I have coloured them both with Promarkers, distressed around the edge with my Tim Holtz distressing tool and added a chalk ink pad to accentuate the edge.
For my first card I have used Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots, Summer's Lace Dreams and The Boys Zone as my backing papers.

I have inked a doily with Tim Holtz's Tea Dye distress ink with my Inkylicious brush and just gone around the edge with the same chalk ink pad used around the image.  The card has been finished off with some lace, flowers, brad, gems and a sentiment from a Debbi Moore CD.
The second card I have made to take part in the Sketch Saturday Challenge this week.  Here is their sketch:
I really struggle with Clean and Simple (CAS) cards but I am happy with the way this has turned out.  More and more CAS cards seem to sell.  No doubt this is down to the costs of posting more elaborate cards.  The backing papers I have been given.  The card has been finished off with two Card Candi and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

Clearly Besotted Fairy Jasmine

This week I was lucky to be the winner of the recent challenge over at Let's Craft and Create and I won a gorgeous stamp from Clearly Besotted called "Fairy Jasmine".  As I make my cards solely to raise funds for different charities it means so much to win anything (well I do enjoy just taking part but to get something like a Top 3 or Top 5 or even a physical win means a lot) and I like to put it to good use so I I couldn't wait for fairy Jasmine to "come out to play".  I've used Memento ink pad, Promarkers and highlighted areas with a white gel pen.  As you can see I didn't make just one card but I made two.  I have paper pieced the dresses and crowns on both images.  I have used a piece of Coredinations card stock I got free with some embossing folders and embossing using a zig-zag on the first card and stars on the second and I have sanded back to the core.

For the first card the backing papers are from the Papermania Happy Days.  I love these papers.  This card has been finished off with some "with love" ribbon, mulberry paper stars I was given, peel off waste squares and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.
The backing papers for this second card are Glitz Cashmere dame which I won in some candy.  This card has been finished off with some raffia ribbon, gingham ribbon, mulberry stars, peel-off circles and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

It is Friday and therefore time for another challenge over at Delicious Doodles.  The challenge this week is "lace".
For my card I have used one of Teri's newest images called "Leather and lace".  Isn't she a beauty?  I have made this card for a very special friend.  I have coloured my image with my Promarkers and highlighted areas with my white gel pen.  I've then used my Tim Holtz distressing tool on the image and some of the plain cardstock and then inked the edges with a chalk ink pad.

I decided to go for an orange and yellow colour scheme.  Certainly not my usual colour scheme but I thought it was nice, bright and cheery.  The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Gingham, Bearly Mine Designs Mini Dots and Bearly Mine Designs Summer's Lace Dreams.  The card has been finished off with some paper flowers I was given which I have flower brads to, ribbon bow, buttons, die-cut sentiment and lace.

The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Designs Christmas Traditions and Bearly Mine Designs Festive Fun.  The card has been finished off with a Tim Holtz clock die which I have inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink, some flowers cut out of backing paper I was given and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

Bearly Mine Challenge - Tuesday 14 May 2013 - Lucky Dip

It's Tuesday again and time for another challenge over at the Bearly Mine Challenge Blog.
The challenge this week is a "Lucky Dip" whereby you have to use 3 items from the above list on your card/creation.

As usual we have two wonderful sponsors this week who are The Paper Shelter and Emerald Fairies.  Emerald Fairies are offering 3 digital images of the winners' choice.  The Paper Shelter are offering a $20 gift certificate to be used in their store.
For my card I decided to make an A5 card for change and also one for those difficult age of teenagers.  I always used to use this size but then got hooked on 6x6 cards.  For my card I have used The Paper Shelter image "Gothic and Modern" and have coloured the image in with my trusty Promarkers.  After die-cutting around the image I have used three different See D's stamps to stamp around the edge.  I've used a dotty stamp and Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass distress ink.  Then I've used a scroll and a wiggly line with Tim Holtz's Victorian Velvet distress ink.

The backing papers I have used are a pink gingham from the Bearly Mine Designs Spring Surprise digi set and the blue patterned paper is from the Bearly Mine Designs The Boys Zone.  I have finished the card off with some lace, My Craft Studio (MCS) Click-Print-Go flowers which I have bent inot shape with tweezers and added brad centres to, Pearly dots and a Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment.

So in relation to the Lucky Dip title of this challenge I have gone for:

Pink/blue combo
