Especially for You

..... now I shall be singing the lyrics for "Especially for You" by Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan!!!!!!
Here is a card made with two stamps from Stamp Addicts I've wanted for a while but each time I've gone to buy they've been out of stock.  I managed to get the "Dottiness Clouds" stamps and the "large and small poppies" stamps.  The backing papers I was given so I do not know their origin.  I used a piece of Inkylicious card and use one of the dotty stamps and a Versamark ink pad and stamped all over.   I then used my red Pan Pastel and the rounded end tool and covered the piece of card to dry off the Versamark ink and leave the dots showing.  I then used a black Memento ink pad to stamp the large poppy and then coloured in with my Promarkers.  The card has been finished off with some gingham ribbon, flower shaped buttons and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

I have always liked this cute this character from Lisa Victoria called "Rain Dragon".  He's been available for quite a while in rubber format from Sweet Pea Stamps but he's now available in digital format so I had to have him.  I have coloured him in with Promarkers and chalked around him with some sparkly chalks.  The backing papers I was given so I don't know their origin.  The image I have die-cut and mounted on top of a Marianne Designs die-cut shape.  I have finished the card off with a sentiment off the computer saying "I heard you were feeling under the weather - Get Well Soon", flowers cut from scraps of the backing paper, buttons, twine and some Papermania Glitterations.

New Baby Boy Card

Here is a new baby boy card I have made using the Kraftyhands Bouncing Babies CD.  I chose this gorgeous little baby boy image.  I printed off 3 sheets and made the image into decoupage.

The spotty backing paper is also from the CD along with the toppers that I have used to decorate the other pages of the card.  I've added some details of the baby and a verse.
Here is the back of the card as I always like to add something to the back.
As my husband is hand delivering the card and present I was able to decorate the envelope as well.
This is the present we bought.  Isn't it cute?

Sweet Pea Stamps Marlon Teunissen's "Cold"

I have used my Tim Holtz backing papers that my son bought me for Christmas 2011.  Well you can't keep it un-used forever can you?  I've stamped around the edges with two new small snowflake stamps, the teal paper was stamped with Tim Holtz's Broken China distress ink pad and the brown paper was stamped with Tim Holtz's Brushded Corduroy distress ink pad.  The image I have used is available as a stamp or a digital image from Sweet Pea Stamps and is called "Cold" by Marlon Teunissen.  It's certainly an approrpiate image for this weather.  I have coloured the image with my Promarkers/Flexmarkers and coloured around the edge with a Cloud Blue Flexmarker and then used a See D's dotty stamp with a white Versamagic ink pad to give the illusion of snow.  I then used a Martha Stewart lattice punch on some teal card and covered over one end with some blue ribbon which I must have had for about 8 years - well before I started cardmaking - so not sure why I kept it.  I have finished the card off with a clock die stamped with the same blue ink pad and snowflake stamp and cut in half, teardrop gems, Craftwork Cards sentiment, flower, button and decorative clip.

For my card I have chosen the third horizontal row of "swirls, digi image, ribbon and die-cut".  I have used a Sweet Pea Stamps image by Meredith Dillman called "Fanciful Notions" (the image is available as a rubber stamp but I bought it as a digital image).  I have coloured the image with my Promarkers.

The backing papers I have used are Bearly Mine Design Patchwork Party, Summer's Lace Dreams and The Boys Zone.  I have used a gorgeous Cheery Lynn die and attached twine through it in places.  I have finished the card off with a ribbon bow, glitter swirl, Craftwork Cards die-cut sentiment, flower with brad centre and some Crafty Ann's Sewing Sheet digital images which I have coloured with my Promarkers and cut out.

Sparkle and Glitter the Rick St Dennis Challenge - 18 January 2013

Oh my goodness me.  My husband has re-set my camera and the photos are still as bad.  I'll have to keep an eye out for a new camera sometime but we had to buy a new microwave this week and tonight to my horror a capped tooth has fallen out.  It might be able to be stuck in again or it might mean another one being made or something different so that will be c£400 - yikes.  If anyone has a decent cheap camera that takes wonderful close up pictures please let me know.

The challenge over at the Sparkle and Glitter the Rick St Dennis Challenge this week is "anything but a square".
As you can see from above my card is anything but a square.  I have folded a piece of bunting in half and stuck it to another piece folder in half and came up with this shape with its own stand.  The only nightmare is getting the shape for the backing paper but I had an idea to cut all four pieces at once (as I covered the back as well with the same papers).  I have used a Rick St Dennis image called "Desdemona" and printed out twice, colouring one in red and one in blue.  I have used four different flower punches and made flowers out of the scraps of backing paper left.  The card has been finished off with some ribbons, Papermania Glitterations, Marianne Designs scroll and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Sparkle and Glitetr the Rick St Dennis Challenge - Anything but a square
Whimsy Stamps - Fancy edges
Marianne's Designs - Banners and bunting (hope this is OK that I have made my card out of bunting)

Less is More Challenge - 19 January 2013

Over at the Less is More Challenge this week the topic is "nature".  I have used a stamped image a friend gave to me so I apologise for not knowing the make.  I have cut around the image and coloured the little bird in with Promarkers but the flowers, clouds and all around the image was coloured in with Pan Pastels.  I could never have coloured the flowers without the help of the little pointy Pan Pastel tool.  The card has been finished off with a Kaisercraft sentiment.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday - Fur or feathers
Sweet Stamps - Anything goes
Card Making Mamas - Clean and simple
Less is More - Friends

Vintage Style Card

I decided to have another go at a vintage style card.  I love other peoples' vintage card but I've never really been happy with my own - not sure why.
The backing papers I have used are the Bearly Mine Designs Shabby Vintage and they are perfect for this style of card.  They are all gorgeous and it was hard to choose which papers to use.  The image of the little girl is a freebie from Magic Moonlight Free Images.  Isn't she just gorgeous?  I printed her out onto printable canvas paper.  I have done some basic matting and layering and then used an Embossalicious 6x6 embossing folder called "Regal Frame".  Under the embossed piece of card I have frayed some cheesecloth for some texture.  I have used a selection of dies that I won in some candy and used Tim Holtz's Tea Dye distress ink through the dies to add some colour.  The friendship words are Kaisercraft stamps which I also won.  I have finished the card off with grosgrain ribbon, pearls, blossom flowers and a gorgeous pearl pin.

Delicious Doodles Challenge - 18 January 2013

Over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge the topic this week is "winter themed makes" which is perfect for the weather we are having at the moment here in the UK.  We have a small amount of snow.  If we get any more the cars will struggle to come up the hill outside our house.  Naughty people are putting far too much grit down at once so my husband had to report the grit bin empty again.  Not sure when they'll be here to fill it up.
The backing papers I have used for the card and the leaf embellishments are from the Bearly Mine Designs Spring Surprise backing papers - yes I know it's a winter themed card but the colours matched perfectly.  I have stamped around the edge of the backing paper with a splat See D stamp and Tim Holtz's Broken China distress ink pad.  The image is from Delicious Doodles and is called "Katarina" and I have coloured in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and edged the fur with Ranger's Clear Rock Candy.  I have stamped around the image with Tim Holtz's Broken China distress ink pad with a dotty See D's stamp to make it look like snow falling around.  I die-cut a Marianne's Designs corner and a leafy embellishment (which I kept in the die and inked through with Broken China distress ink pad).  The card has been finished off with some Washi tape (yes I am a bit late in trying some but I love it) and some gems.
