Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge - 30 September 2011

We had a lovely selection of fall cards this week over at the Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge Blog.  Make sure you go and have a look at the winners.  This fortnight our topic is "emboss it" so it would be lovely if you could have a go.
For my card I have used the Crafty Purple Frog Sheet called Peacock Blue and I have used the pyromage/invertage sheet.  All the backing papers and card were scraps from my box and I have severely hacked them with my Tim Holtz distressing tool.  The brown card I have put through an embossing folder and inked to try and highlight the embossing.  The card has been finished off with some organza ribbon, flowers made from the Artylicious Essence of Nature CD (cut out, dampened, scrunched and edges inked with a very light blue chalk ink pad), brads, feather and sentiment off the computer.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

The Crafty Purple Frog Challenge - 29 September 2011

Well we had a gorgeous array of entries for the Crafty Purple Frog Challenge over the last fortnight.  Make sure you have a look for the winners.  This fortnight the challenge topic is "lots of layers".

For my card I have used the soon to be released Crafty Purple Frog sheet called "Autumn Harvest".  I have used some Dovecrafts paper called Sugar and Spice and just distressed the edges with some chalk ink.  For those that know me I don't normally do pyromage/invertage and prefer normal decoupage but I have come out of my comfort zone.  The card has been finished off with some lace, gems, Craftwork Cards sentiment, Sugar and Spice flowers and star/circle brads.

Bearlymine Challenge - 27 September 2011

Over at the Bearlymine Challenge this time the topic is "use 3 different designer papers".  The ever so talented Donna has designed some gorgeous freebie Halloween papers so it would be very rude not to have a go.
For my card I printed off the criss-cross paper, the orange script paper and the third paper I used I needed some therapy for when I cut around the spiders web as I HATE spiders.  The image is from Digital Delights and is called Spooky Pumpkin - not sure why he got that name do you????  I have coloured the image in with my trusty Promarkers.  The style of card I picked up from watching Julie's Craftwork Cards show on QVC yesterday and it's a little concertina card.  I have cut strips of the papers to fit the gaps of the concertina and inked all the edges with Tim Holtz's Black Soot distress ink pad.  The card is finished off with some handmade flowers with the centre made from circles of material with slits cut in, die-cut scalloped circles cut from an old book and distressed with Black Soot and all kept together with a black brad.  The card is finished off with a die-cut mount, sentiment off the computer and some gorgeous bright orange spider/spiders web ribbon.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments Design Team Card - Thursday 29 September 2011 - Happy Birthday

It's time for another challenge at the Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog.  This time the challenge topic is "Happy Birthday".
We are lucky enough to be sponsored by Stef at Glibberbabe.  For my card I have used the "party hats" image.  I enlarged the image and printed off two images so that I could colour them both with Promarkers and decoupage up the hats.  The backing paper is from some blog candy I won recently and is some gorgeous birthday Papermania paper.  I have finished off the card with some spotty/dotty ribbon, card candy, sentiment and some glittery stars.

Christmas Card

Not quite a commissioned card - don't tell on me - but when I was flicking through my digital image printed off and came across Karen's Doodles image called Bigsby's Christmas Wish, I couldn't help but colouring him in and making into a card.
I coloured my image with Promarkers but then did the background with shimmery chalks for some extra sparkle.  The backing papers are from a freebie book from a magazine I bought whilst on holiday.  I have embellished the card with a sentiment I was given by my sister, lace, card candy, Crafty Ann's Digi Store poinsettias with some gold Stickles glitter glue for the centres, buttons and inside the buttons is some tinsel ribbon which was such a so-and-so to go through the holes that if it didn't give some more sparkle it wouldn't have been included!!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafts and Me - Stripes
Creatalicious Challenge - Anything goes
Inspire me Friday - Anything goes
Crafting Monthly - Christmas sparkle
Sparkles Forum - Something that sparkles
Ribbon Girl - Christmas craft project - tinsel ribbon used

Less is More Challenge - 24 September 2011

Well Chrissie and Mandi certainly had a job on their hands commenting on all the 782 entries they had last week but they did it.  They didn't make the 1000 entries they wanted but that is such a wonderful achievement.  This week for the Less is More Challenge we have been given a sketch:
I have decided to use the sketch to make some more Craft for Life cards to take into my local shop.  I have used the Docrafts stamps sold to raise funds for the Craft for Life Appeal and used the gorgeous bird cage and two different birds.  I always struggle making "with sympathy" or "thinking of you" cards so I thought these little birds in their cages were perfect for this.

I am also entering these cards into the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Creature comforts
Allsorts - Keep it simple
Totally Gorjuss - Birds of a feather
Paper Sundaes - Anything goes

Flashback Friday 15.0

I am just getting in nearly at the last hour for this challenge.  Over at Flashback Friday Challenge this month they want to see your first fall card.

I struggled with looking for one on my blog as we don't really do fall here in the UK but eventually found this Halloween one that was posted in August 2009 so hope that this is OK.  I love this challenge as it takes a lot to blog cards that have been made years ago as you do think "did I make that?" but it's nice to see how we all have progressed.  My original post back in August 2009 can be found here.

Less is More Challenge - 17 September 2011 - Card No 8

Over at the Less is More Challenge this week Chrissie and Mandi's topic is "Anything Goes CAS Card".  Here is my card no 8.
For my last card for this challenge I have decided to make a simple Halloween card and used the Crafty Purple Frog image called "The Perfect Pumpkin".  When I see images like this and digital images I just wish we went in for Halloween more here in the UK.  I have decoupaged the image with Pinflair and did some simple matting and layering, stamped a swirl and added a computer generated sentiment.

Here's hoping that Chrissie and Mandi achieve their 1000 entries.  There have been some wonderful cards made.  I have to admit I do LOVE my embellishments but it's nice also to come out of our "comfort zone".

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Forever Nights - Witches and wizards
Penny's paper Challenge - Fall
4 Crafty Chicks - Fall/autumn.

Here are some photos that I took down to my aunt last Saturday for the Docrafts Craft for Life:

Yes, the photos aren't good - your eyes aren't blurry like mine at the moment - but I forgot to take photos before I put the cards into the shiny plastic wallets.

Less is More Challenge - 17 September 2011 - Card No 7

Over at the Less is More Challenge this week Chrissie and Mandi's topic is "Anything Goes CAS Card".  Here is my card no 7.  For this card I have used the Crafty Purple Frog decoupage sheet entitled "Night Rose".  I have stamped the checked background stamp onto the card with Brilliance ink pad.  The image could be used for many occasions but again I think she's perfect for a sympathy/thinking of you card.  I made the decoupage up with Pinflair, matted onto some black card and added a "with sympathy" peel-off.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Scrap-Creations - Anything goes
Creatalicious Challenge - Anything goes

Less is More Challenge - 17 September 2011 - Card No 6

Over at the Less is More Challenge this week Chrissie and Mandi's topic is "Anything Goes CAS Card".  Here is my card no 6.  I have used a Crafty Purple Frog image called "Hope" and I think this image is perfect for a thinking of you/sympathy card.  The card has a blue swirl stamp from Creative Expressions stamped with a blue Brilliance ink pad.  I matted the invertage sheet onto some blue card and simply added a "I'm so sorry" peel-off.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Creations - Fabulous fairies
Fab N Funky - Hard theme - I always struggle making sympathy/thinking of you cards
Flutter by Wednesday - Open theme

Less is More Challenge - 17 September 2011 - Card No 5

Over at the Less is More Challenge this week Chrissie and Mandi's topic is "Anything Goes CAS Card".  Here is my card no 5.
For this card I have used the background stamp over the edge of the card with a Starlight Black Brilliance ink pad.  The digital image is from Just Inklined and is called "The Post Office",  I have printed the image onto beige card and then coloured in with Promarkers, done some simple matting and added a peel-off.

I am also entering this into the following challenges:

Totally Papercrafts - Thank you
Creatalicious Challenge - Anything goes
Rainbow Lady's - White space

Less is More Challenge - 17 September 2011 - Card No 4

Over at the Less is More Challenge this week Chrissie and Mandi's topic is "Anything Goes CAS Card".  Here is my card no 4.

For this card I have used the Creative Expressions swirl stamp again with the blue Brilliance ink pad.  I have used a Crafty Purple Frog invertage sheet entitled "Green Moth" and just matted it onto some textured card and added a couple of gems and a peel-off.

I am also entering this card into the following challenge:

Crafty Boots - Things with wings
Papertake Weekly - Creature comforts
Creatalicious Challenge - Anything goes

Less is More Challenge - 17 September 2011 - Card No 3

Over at the Less is More Challenge this week Chrissie and Mandi's topic is "Anything Goes CAS Card".  Here is my card no 3.  Again I have used my new stamp but this time use a Starlite Black Brilliance ink pad.  I have masked my little owl stamp - not sure where he was from - and made a little group of three of them.  They have been coloured with Promarkers, cut out with a Nestabilities die, chalk inked the edges and added a peel-off sentiment.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Simon says Stamp - Dies to die for
Creative Inspirations - Let's celebrate
Little Red Wagon - Repeat a stamped image

Less is More Challenge - 17 September 2011 - Card No 2

Over at the Less is More Challenge this week Chrissie and Mandi's topic is "Anything Goes CAS Card".
For my second card I have used a Crafty Purple Frog image called "Full Moon".  I have stamped a blue swirl with a Creative Expressions stamp with blue Brilliance ink pad.  I have used the invertage sheet and finally added two gems and a sentiment.

I am also entering this into the following challenges:

Creative Inspiration - Let's celebrate
Crafty Sentiments - Birthday projects
Rainbow Lady's - White space

Less is More Challenge - 17 September 2011

Over at the Less is More Challenge this week Chrissie and Mandi are hoping to make 1000 entries - WOW!!!!  The topic is "Anything Goes CAS Card" I haven't been able to enter many challenges since the death of my mum but I needed to make some more Craft for Life cards as I took some to my aunt last week-end for her to take into her local shop - not that the cards will get to the shop - instead she'll take in a donation!!

I have made a number of cards to enter in the challenge and should never have left to tonight to upload as I had my eyes dilated this morning and my pupils still feel like golf balls and it's difficult to see properly!!!  Here is my first card:
I have used a new background stamp I got in some candy and I love it.  The digital image is one I've had saved on my computer for ages from Crafting in Croatia.  I have coloured the image with Promarkers, did some simple matting and added a gem.

I am also entering this into the following challenges:

Creatalicious Challenge - Anything goes
Crafty Boots - Things with wings

Thank you for the lovely entries for Team A's Challenge last week on the Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge Blog.  Click here to see if you are a winner.  This week the challenge for Team B is "fall colours".  I thought I'd enter a card this week as well so here is my entry.
For my card I have used a new sheet from the Crafty Purple Frog - which should be available very, very soon - and is called "Autumn Breeze".  She is absolutely gorgeous.  I have used the decoupage image and decoupaged with Pinflair glue gel.  My backing papers are called Sugar and Spice and are from Dovecraft.  I thought they were nice autumnal colours.  I have just done some simple matting and layering and then added lace, Craftwork Cards sentiments (it does say "for a fabulous friend" but the sentiment didn't like the camera because of the foiling!!), gems, ribbon bow (which I've had for ages and ages), Stickles glitter glue and various leaves cut/embossed with three different X-cut punches.
