Well it's a few weeks since I had time to play with the Less is More Challenge. It's amazing how things can change with crafters as on a Saturday I would never have imagined it would be one of the first challenges I looked at. That's no disrespect to Chrissie and Mandi but more in the fact that I could never do "less is more" cards and love my embellishments be it flowers, gems, ribbon etc. This weeks' topic at the Less is More Challenge is a "touch of red".
Last year when I went to a friend's house we spent some time stamping out some images for me to use for my cards that I make for charity. Unfortunately, I am unable to tell you the make of this stamped image. Isn't she just gorgeous though? I would have loved to be around to wear hats like that. I have mounted the image on some red mirri card for both cards and elevated on foam pads. One card is finished off with a Happy Birthday sentiment and three black squares of peel-off waste and the second card is finished off with a "To a Special Friend" sentiment and four squares of peel-off waste. Both cards I have used the technique of using masking tape to transfer the peel-offs to ensure they stay in a straight line as no matter how I try I can sometimes get it wonky. Both of these cards I shall drop off with another batch to my local Marie Curie Shop next week and they can sell them for the Docrafts Craft for Life Appeal.
I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
Sir Stampalot - Ladies and fashion
Simon Says Stamp and Show - A hat
Catch the Bug - Anything goes
Update: Thanks to Sandra and Sue for letting me know that this gorgeous lady is made by Rubber Romance. Thanks for letting me know.

Wow! love that image. Fabulous cards. Lx
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite stamps! She lends a touch of class to any card, and certainly to yours too!
ReplyDeleteP.S. My gal is unmounted red rubber, so I have the same issue as you. But I think this is a classic Man Ray image so lots of companies catalog it. I could be wrong though... To view my creation check out my StampTV page http://stamptv.ning.com/photo/stvsksp10-7?context=user
A fab card Kym. I'm like you and like to use lots of embellishments on my cards but I could get used to this style! Carol x
ReplyDeleteI've got that stamp as well Kym, but all it tells me is that it's called 'Sophia', there is nothing on the packing to give the make, which is really odd.
ReplyDeleteLove the clean clear lines of your card though, she lends herself to this style perfectly.
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely creation and joining in my Bloomin’ Blossoms theme at Allsorts this week
