Commissioned Birthday Card


I was asked to make a card for a customer's brother.  I have used this lovely image from Joanna Sheen's Times Gone By CD of some old style ships.  Oh I wish I was by the sea now.  I have just done some simple matting and layering, added a knot out of string (don't tell anyone but I got quite a large reel of this from Poundland and maybe could use it to adorn 100+ cards!!!!), fibres, sentiment off the computer and personalised insert.

This card fits the following challenges:

Daring Cardmakers - Poundshop pretties - I got the string and the fibres from Poundland
Cards for Men - Water
Top Tip Tuesday - Favourites - I love using raffia, string, ribbon or fibres on my cards so for this card I have used string and some fibres
Tuesday Taggers - Inspired by a Song - "I am sailing" by Rod Stewart
Ai Factory - Drop in the bucket
