WOYWW - Wednesday 27 October 2010

Well what an amazing week having a look at everyone's blogs for the WOYWW.  Click here to have a look at Julia's blog who runs the weekly WOYWW event.

There are certainly some good WOYWW detectives out there.  I thought I'd only really included a picture of my craft desk but some of you realised what it was.  Earlier in the year I seriously considered giving up cardmaking altogether as I couldn't cope with craft stuff all around the dining area of the lounge/diner and stuff all over the dining room table.  We then saw details of the Workbox so we started to save.  I was concerned though as it was so expensive but as I make my cards to sell to raise funds for charity, if I gave up cardmaking the charities would lose out, it was something we as a family were prepared to do.

Thankfully we did manage to get one half price as it had been put up in the shop and had got marked/damaged in a few places.  We had to go to Oxford to have a look and after using my brother-in-law's MPV it was brought home and has been living in my house since.  Yes, it took my husband a while to put up and he put some polyfilla over a couple of marks but after spending some considerable time, I was 100% happy with the Workbox.  I am amazed how much I have used up since having it as before I did not have the "will or way" to go looking for stuff even though I knew I had it.  I haven't gotten around to labelling the shelves but seem to remember where things are and it has made things so much easier for me and the charities haven't lost out.  I am supposed to shut the Workbox down after each session but that doesn't always happen but when visitors come it just looks like a wardrobe in our front room!!!!

These are some photos from June 2010 when it became my best friend:

Well, onto WOYWW this week.  Here are some photos of my worktable taken today.  I have some preparations for some commissioned cards on there and some digital images I have printed off and some I have coloured in and some I haven't.  I collect Keel dogs and often I have a "visitor" come and sit at my desk.  This time it is Jasper the Dalmatian.

  5. It is an amazing piece of kit and well done you for getting one at a reasonable price! They are mega expensive!
But you still have to clear the desk to pack it away don't you, so you're obviously a very tidy person!

  6. Wow that workspace is awesome! Glad you bought it and managed to get your mojo back - I am the same when I am too cluttered too so, as I am a messy crafter, I have to have clearouts and sortouts to get me going again! Hope your mojo stays for a long while now! Thanks for sharing (no. 26)

  24. Oh, Kym! What an amazing piece of furniture/equipment!! You are one lucky lady! Having been evicted from my craft room by a long term, unexpected house guest, I now share the sitting room with husband, guest, PC, TV and three cats! I feel really guilty when I spread my stuff out, and it's a right pain having to clear it away each time! Oh well - I suppose it will help my housekeeping skills LOL! x

  32. I've had one on my wish list since before time! and have entered loads of competitions, but most of them seem to be in USA. Hubby said I'd never be tidy even if I had one, but, well, I MIGHT be!! It looks fabulous and well done you on getting it at half price, I reckon you'd still get your money back if you sold it in years to come. Never actually seen one in the 'flesh' but they do look useful! Bit late but happy woyww!!

  41. This is one gorgeous piece of organization! You scored, Kym. And you have it so everything is at your fingertips, yet can be hidden away very quickly. I can see why you love it.

Thanks so much for the sweet words you left on my blog. I'm still moving slowly, but trying to start visiting people who visited me. I thought I would mention that I also dry flowers in my microwave. It's not for food use, though! Happy very belated WOYWW (# 15).
