Craft for Life Appeal 2010

It is the time of the year again that DoCrafts Creativity! Magazine are promoting the Craft for Life Appeal whereby you make an A6 card, put it in a special envelope and then send off or take into a local shop where the cards are sold for £1 each to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.  This charity is very close to my heart and therefore I always make sure I make some cards for this appeal.

This year I wanted to make 50 cards but I have actually made 66 cards which is my highest effort yet.  Some of the items used are mine but then are are blogging and forum friends that have sent me items that they don't use anymore.  I have put these things to good use for some of these cards but also for my cards which I keep at home and sell to raise funds for charity anyway.  I would also like to thank all the makers of CDs that I have used as they are certainly more cost-effective way for me to make cards.  I would also like to thank all those wonderful designers that make digital images and have allowed me to use them in my charity work and some have generously also given me free images to kick-start my charity.  I would like to thank everyone that has helped me to help this charity.

A friend also got into cardmaking in the last few years and she has kindly made 25 cards to go for this charity and I have 3 cards that were sent already made that I have put in envelopes to go to the shop (please note - the rest of the cards that have been donated already made are either square or A5 or DL and therefore can't go for this appeal as they have to be C6 cards.  Never fear, these cards will go on sale on my regular monthly charity stall).  Below at the top are the three donated cards and the rest are my friend's cards:

  3. Wow Kym. You have been a busy bee. Your cards and those of your friends are really lovely.

Certainly worth more than the £1 people will have to pay for them.

Any charity related to cancer is dear to my heart too - as our family has been struck by this disease too often.

Well done, you are an inspiration to us all.
