My husband has been saving for a few years now to take me away on a special week-end for my 40th birthday. Despite my Mum having shingles she looked after our two boys so we could go off to Blackpool for three nights away. Despite it being cold and windy (horrendously cold and windy on Saturday and we even struggled at times to even walk!!) we had a lovely time as I would so love to live near the sea and this is the first time when we've been to Blackpool that we've actually seen the illuminations - big kid eh??? Our hotel was lovely and homely and only a short distance from the sea (Applethwaite Hotel).
On the way up we stopped off at Rosemary Merry's shop. On Saturday my husband took me to Dawn Bibby's Design Studio which was a lovely treat. Lindsay Mason was there demonstrating and I got to see a lot of her lovely creations. She is such a lovely lady and we even met her sister who has had a book published on beading. I had a little natter with Dawn and she even had a photo taken with me. As Dawn is the main person that started me properly in cardmaking it really meant a lot that she took time out to talk to me/have a photo taken and that was one of my highlights of the week-end. All-in-all it was a wonderful time away and certainly a 40th birthday treat especially aimed at me.
Looks as if you had a great weekend and how lucky for you to have met Dawn - your crafting heroine.
