This card fits the criteria for:

Dottie's World - charmed I'm sure

Sophisticat Challenge 28/9/09

There is a lovely sketch this week over at the Sophisticats Challenge blog and I have used this sketch to make this birthday card. I have used some Summer Driggs paper, some DCWV textured card, two Heidi Swapp flowers which I have inked with a brown chalk inkpad, a Lily-Boo digital download watercoloured with Sakura stardust pens, a sentiment typed on the computer and finished off with three flower sequins (which aren't showing up too well in the photo).

Card for a Friend

I have made this card for a friend who is into planes. I have had some lovely planes charms for a while and decided to put one on this card. The image is from the Card Kits for Men CD I have and the planes have been treated with clear metal magic. It's the first time I've used it - a bit messy for me but it makes the planes look really realistic. This card meets the criteria for the Dutch Dare Challenge this week as you have to use a charm on your card.

I'm Gobsmacked!!!

I can't believe it. I see that I have won some organza ribbon in the Ribbon Oasis Blog Candy. I am amazed how lucky I have been lately. Thanks to the generosity of many lovely people offering blog candy and my luck of winning I am putting items that I have won to good use for my cards I make for charity. It gives me a chance of using things that I wouldn't normally have been able to buy.

I know it's my birthday on Friday but I feel that my birthday has come early and I feel so blessed.

Oh I am excited!!!!

I have had a stressful week-end but won't go into details and bore people but I read an e-mail which made me cry. Bee informed me that her wonderful husband had picked my name out to win her blog candy. To say I am happy is an under-statement. I have been lucky enough to win some blog candy lately and also a challenge and have put the items to goo use for my cards I make for charity. I have received things that I wouldn't normally have bought but have thoroughly enjoyed using.

Thank you Bee for offering this blog candy and for letting me know today that I had won. My week-end has finished on a "high" now!!!

Card for Five Challenges

I have made this card to go in my stash of cards to be sold for charity. The image is a cute little dog from Daisy May Digital downloads. The card fits the criteria for the following five challenges:

Daisy May Challenge - texture - I have put two pieces of card through the Wizard in two Cuttlebug embossing folders - the polka dots and the swirls and also used some textured card for the tag

CRAFT Challenge - no backing paper - I always struggle when this topic comes up for a challenge but with getting some texture on the card it seemed easier

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge - die-cuts - I used my Nestabilities die-cut to cut the mat that the digital dog image is on and also used a die to cut the tag out

One Stop Craft Challenge - die-cuts - I used my Nestabilities die-cut to cut the mat that the digital dog image is on and also used a die to cut the tag out

Simon Says Challenge - Stitch it up! - I have done some faux stitching around the card using a new white pen bought from Joanna Sheen's website which is fab.

Stamp with Fun 21/9/09 and Stamp with Stampavice 23/9/09

I made my neighbour's card yesterday for the little boy so it was his sister's turn this time. I used backing papers and the stamped image I won in a challenge on Charisma Cardz. The stamp is from Squiggle stamps and I just wish she could be used all year round as she's gorgeous!! The pumpkins are cut out from a backing paper from Summer Driggs. Hope my neighbour likes the card when she comes trick or treating with her dad and brother soon.

This card fits the criteria for two challenges:

Stamp with fun - autumn

Stamp with Stampavie - pumpkins

Allsorts Challenge 26/9/09 and Saturday Challenge 26/9/09

Over at Allsorts Challenge Blog this week the challenge is "autumn days" and at the Saturday Challenge the challenge is "animal antics". My neighbours normally bring their children around trick-or-treating so I thought this year I would make the boy and girl a little card to go with their sweets. This is the card I have made for the little boy and is a kitty Halloween image from Pollycraft Designs and the backing papers are from Digital Scrapbooking (pumpkins) and Summer Driggs (spiders web).

Commissioned Card for my Son for his Friend

My son asked me today if I could make a card for his friend who turned 18 this week. My son only turned 17 in the middle of August and to think of someone in the same "school year" to him turning 18 seems strange. I asked my son what he wanted on the card but he couldn't think so we've gone for computers/gaming controller as his friend loves his gaming system. This is from my Crafty Computer Paper Card Kits for Men CD.

This card fits the topic this week for Daring Cardmakers as you had to "tartan it up" and I have used some blue and green tartan backing paper.

The second photo shows another version of this card which I will put in my charity box as I am trying to not leave bits-and-pieces of paper on my table but use it up so I thought I'd print an extra set of the decoupage off.

Craftylasses' Cards

I recently got some freebies and also bought some items from Craftylasses. Click here to go and have a look - you'll need a cup of coffee or cup of tea as you'll be there a long time. They have some gorgeous cards in many different shapes and sizes for many different occasions. I have made three different ones, a gorgeous lady and two of the same image to be used for occasions like an anniversary but one is printed on pearlescent card and one on photo paper. As my printer doesn't take really thick card it makes things a bit more difficult for me but that's life isn't it. What I will say no matter what you do they make lovely cards as the images are fab to start off with. All of these cards are now making their way to my boxes when I do changes of my cards I have in various places.

Birthday Card for Neighbour

It is a neighbour's birthday on Sunday. As he's car mad I made this card using my Mens' CD I got recently. The image has been decoupaged. The car was a little tricky to cut out for my eyes and hands but certainly worth it.

Anyone for Anya Challenge 20/9/09 and Stamp Something Challenge 18/9/09

A lot of my blogging friends know that I make cards for charity and therefore I am sent things by them for me to use for my cardmaking or even ready-made up handmade cards which go on various stalls I have.

Thanks to one of my blogging friends, she sent me some papers, some stamped images and also some made cards. There are so many gorgeous stamps out lately and my wish list is ever-growing but I have always liked the Anya stamps and I was so happy when some of the stamped images were Anya and I have coloured this little girl with watercolours to match the backing papers - pinky/purples and silver. I have used a crocheted flower I won in some blog candy recently and put behind it a piece of organza I got on a bunch of flowers last week-end and cut the scalloped shape out with the Wizard. It didn't do it too badly and I just had to nick a few places with scissors but I am pleased with it.

This cards meets the criteria for the following challenges:

Stamp Something - favourite colours or papers - I love purple and silver put together so that's the colour scheme I have chosen

Anyone for Anya - funky flowers - well the backing paper on the front of the card and inside and also the crocheted flower certainly makes it look funky - but not sure if it's flower overload but I can be very critical of my own cards at times.

Card for Three Challenges

I have made this card using a Lily-Boo's Boutique digital image using watercolour pencils and some inking with two of Tim Holtz's distressed inks - brushed corduroy and pine needles. The skelton leaves backing paper is from Joanna Sheen's Cottage Garden CD and the flowers are from a Bearlymine digital download.

This card fits the criteria for:

My Time to Craft - Autumn fest

Digital Tuesday - falling leaves

Creative Inspirations - autumn/fall.

Birthday Card for my Brother-in-Law

It's my brother-in-law's birthday next week so I decided to make his card as well today. He's taken to playing pool and snooker with his brother so I thought I'd do another pool/snooker card. Instead of putting an insert insert the card I have decided to decorate the inside with backing paper and decoupaged images as the card will be hand delivered rather than posted and this also meant it met the criteria for the Creative Card Crew Challenge this week of decorating the inside of your card. Another man's card to make this week for our neighbour - I want some girly cards to do!!!

Card for my Son from his Brother

My eldest son wanted me to look in my stash of cards to find a card suitable for his brother but I decided in the end that it was easier to make one from scratch. I prefer my son to buy cards off me (yes I do charge him as he'll not learn) as half goes to charity whereas he'd spent £2+ on a card in town and that money certainly wouldn't go to charity. I used my Card Kits for Men CD for this image. The jean pocket is decoupage along with the detail near the belt. I typed the sentiment on the computer and made it into a tag.

This card fits the following challenges:

Paperplay - tag it

Crafty Cardmakers - 3D elements

Sophisticat Challenge 27/9/09

Well, I can't believe it is the third challenge for the Sophisticat Challenge blog and I am ashamed to say I haven't managed to make a card for the first two so I have made up for it this week. I have used Karen's sketch to make my son's birthday card for tomorrow as he'll be 13. His dad has taken a lieu day tomorrow so that he can take him out to play pool or snooker after school so I thought this card was ideal. The images I purchased from Printable Heaven and have just made the card up as per the sketch. Just hope my son likes it. I hope to be back again very shortly to partake in this Challenge Blog.
