Card for Three Challenges

Well this card is a 3:1 challenge.

At the Just Magnolia Challenge blog the topic this week is pink and green.  The main card has been printed with pink and green spots and despite the awful photo the holographic card is bright pink and not red.  Tilda has also been watercoloured with Watercolour Pencils in pink and green to match.

At the One Stop Craft Challenge Blog this week the topic is something new.  For this challenge I have used my very first new Tilda stamp.  I've been waiting and waiting as I wasn't totally sure about Tilda when she first came out but after seeing so many cards made with her and her friends I couldn't resist any longer.

Over at Kellie's Magnolia Challenge Blog the challenge this week is spot the dots.  You'll not miss my dots as the whole card is printed in a dotty pattern.  If you take a close look the holographic shocking pink card has a dotty background to it as well and to make sure of enough dots I have dotted around some round gems as well - then again I don't need an excuse to add gems to cards!!!!

Cards for Dog Rescue

I have offered to make some cards for a lady who runs a Dog Rescue.  She is going to a show in a few weeks' time and wants cards to take with her.  A lot of them I will do animal orientated - mainly dogs - but some I will do generalised.  Some I will take from the stash I have already but I have made a few already using a mix of Joanna Sheen CDs and Michelle Marsden CD.

Card for Various Challenges

Well, this month seems to have runaway with me and life seems to be taking over so this card has to fit a number of challenges.

For Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog this week the topic is "B is for ........".  I had thought of the obvious birthday card but decided to use this digital download of Dottie as she has such gorgeous butterfly wings.

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge 4 had the topic of "things with wings" so the digital download of Dottie and her beautiful butterfly wings fitted into this challenge.

Over at The Papertake Weekly Challenge the topic is spots and stripes.  I have used dotty paper and a dotty flower courtesy of Jak Heath's downloads and of course "Dottie" herself is displaying a wonderful pair of stripey tights.

Over the My Time to Craft Challenge no 59 is black, white and another colour so for this one I chose the combination of black, white and PINK.

The Cute Daisy May Challenge this week is for gems.  Do I need an excuse to use gems on my cards ........... I think not!!!  I coloured the gems black with a Permapaque pen.

Dottie's World has the topic of a teenager this week.  I thought Dottie fitted the bill but decided to go with a more classy background of the spots etc as 13 year olds are getting to that certain age then and they don't what cute but they don't want grow-up either.  Hopefully I've got it just right.  Got to practice as my youngest will be 13 in September but he won't like this card!!!

Over at Our Creative Corner this week the challenge this week is favourite colour combination.  I do like anything to do with purple but I do like the combinations of black/white/red; black/white/pink and black/white/purple so I decided to go for black/white/pink.  Hope you like it.

Just Magnolia Challenge 2 - Friday 24/4/09

Over at the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog it is week 2.  I missed out on their first week but wanted to take part this week.  The topic is pink and green.  I decided not to use my "normal" tones of pink and green ie a darkish green and a baby pink - this card is made with a bright green and a salmon pink.  Certainly coming out of my comfort zone but that's why I wanted to take part in challenges to force me to do this.  Tilda has been coloured in with Lyra watercolours to match - it doesn't look like from the photo but the colour of her trousers matches the backing paper perfectly but after 20 takes of the photo I gave up trying to get a better match!!!

Another Card for Various Challenges

Over at the Sketch and Stash Challenge there is a lovely sketch this fortnight.  I have used from my stash a lady teddy bear stamp that I've had for a while but not used along with some fabric flowers - do I have to use them - I want to keep them!!!

For the Creative Card Crew Challenge this week the topic is round and around. and the Tanda Stamps is going around in circles.  I hope my entry counts for both as I have got round brads and have rounded all the edges of my paper - I must get some round punches/nestabilities - you'd never get me trying to cut circles by hand as they'd never resemble circles!!

For the Stamp Something Challenge this week the topic is something with showers or flowers so my Papermania flowers fit the bill for this one.

Card for Various Challenges

This card is a 3-in-1 card challenge card.

Over at The Pink Elephant the topic this week is either Happy Mother's Day OR recycle.  For this card I have recycled some ribbon from some clothes and also recycled the card I have stamped on from a card one of my children was bought last year!!!

Over at The Cuttlebug Spot the topic this week is cake/cupcakes.  What a dilemma to use cupcakes on a card me thinks???  I used the little cupcake stamp from a set of stamps from Cute Companions.  The main Fairy Wishes text and stamp were a set of two from Papermania.  I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Over at Cute Card Thursday the topic this week is getting edgy ie tearing, sanding or distressing.  I put a piece of card through a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and then sanded over the dots and the edges of the card.  I tore around the stamped image and then inked the edges to highlight it more.

Regular Monthly Charity Stall

It was time yesterday to set up the charity stall again for the month.  Normally my eldest son does this but he had to go to work so I did it.  Am shattered today after this extra activity but it had to be done.  This time we are raising funds for the Duckling Appeal (the Maternity Unit at my local hospital).  I remembered to take my stand and my A4 card and it looked good in the middle of the stall so I shall have to remember to make a different one for next month.  I did do a little area for Father's Day cards but it might be a bit early for people to buy them at the moment - but then again it is May next week!!!

A4 Card for Stall - Buttercup Fairy

I have recently bought a small stand to take one main card for the regular stall I have so I wanted to make an A4 card to go on it.  I used the Buttercup Fairy Image from the Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD - took it into Irfanview and cropped it - then took it into My Craft Studio and made larger and then printed off three copies.  I printed off the backing paper and a piece of notepaper for the insert and decoupaged up, used a Just for You sentiment from the daisy and Dandelion Stamp Set and added a bow made with a gold and a green organza ribbon.  Just wish now that I could find a place that sells A4 cello bags which fit business sized A4 envelope and I would be more happy at presenting A4 cards on my stall.

Oh I'm so excited!!!

I didn't go on the computer yesterday and lo and behold today I'd got some comments on my blog to say that I'd won the Daisy May Challenge for last week.  I've been entering challenges for the last 9 months - more so in the last 4 months - and have never won anything - so to say I was happy was an under-statement.

The Fresh Batch - Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge #11 - 16/4/09

The Fresh Batch - Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge is a new challenge blog for me that I found following a link from another blog.  They had a lovely sketch so I thought I'd have a go.

Paper: Funky Hands Funky Daze CD, some pink mirror card from my stash and some pink glitter card from my stash
Stamps:  I was given this image as I need to make some cards for a lady running a Dog Rescue so I am not sure who made the stamp.  It is coloured in with Lyra Watercolours and Sakura Pens.  Small dog bone stamp has been used to embellish the main card.

Dare U to Digi-Stamp Friday Challenge 3 - 17/4/09

Over at the Dare U to Digi-Stamp Friday Challenge Blog the challenge this week is pink and green as well as using a digital download.

Daisy May Challenge #7 - 13-4-09

Well my husband and son are back from their week-end away camping in Buckinghamshire.  I have now been able to take photos of some cards I made at the week-end and upload onto blogger if it behaves itself.

Over at the Daisy May Challenge this week the theme is for a shaped card to be used along with a Daisy May Digital Download.  I had to use these two girls as they are sooooooooooo cute and I so love the little girl with the old-style telephone.

Paper: From a Crafter's Companion CD but can't for the life of me remember which.
Digital Downloads:  two Daisy May downloads coloured with Watercolour Pencils and Sakura Pens.
Embellishments:  Flower peel-offs, ribbon, 4 fabric flowers and some silver pearlidoodles.

Sorry for no comments

Like a lot of other people I have had a lot of problems with accessing a lot of blogs over the last 48 hours ie when I open up to look at a blog I get up to 20 tabs open with the same blog and then the computer hangs and even Alt-Ctrl-Delete won't work and thus it's a turn-off by the main button is the only thing that I can do. Wordpress blogs seem OK but it is others I can't access.

It seems to allow me into my own blog sometimes but it's even been hanging with that and come up with strane errors.

I just wanted to apologise to people for not commenting. I have tried 3-4 times each day but can't cope with it playing up so I've had to avoid going on blogs. I will keep trying and will be back commenting as soon as things have been sorted.

I'm annoyed as well as I've missed out on my first ever blog candy win in about 18 months of entering as I couldn't meet the deadline as I didn't know about it as I couldn't access blogs - I'm not a happy bunny!!!!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge 13 - Orange - 13/4/09

Over at the Pollycraft Monday Challenge, Challenge 13 is for orange. I wouldn't normally use bright orange normally as a colour for a card so I am coming out of comfort zone but as I recently bought some Pollycraft stamps I thought I'd have a go at the challenge.

Paper: Funky Hands Funky Daze CD and other papers/card from my stash
Stamps:
Sharing Sherbet - Love Notes from Pollycraft Designs coloured in with Lyra Watercolours and Watercolour Pencils

Joanna Sheen Card Competition - April 2009

Joanna Sheen had a recent card competition. You could either make a card using the LOVELY Messy Rabbit CD or the Messy Rabbit Stamps. Even though I love the CD I had to go for the stamps as I am so into stamping this year. I decided to do a village scene and used a staggering 15 stamps. After spending many an hour stamping/colouring in with Lyra Watercolours/cutting out I then used some of the backing papers from Pad 2 to create the backgrounds and like a little kid spent time working out which house was going where and with what. I received in the post Messy Pooch just as I was completing the card so he had to go on as well.

I have just seen on Joanna's Forum that I have made the status of a runner-up like I did with the Jayne Netley Mayhew CD. I've had a difficult time of late and this has cheered me up.

I don't need an excuse to get little Dottie out as I think she is so cute.

Image: Dottie from the Front-to-back digital download collection from Charmed Cards and Craft.

Creative Card Crew Challenge 4 - 31-3-09

Sadly I missed out on the Creative Card Crew Challenge last week and nearly did this week. Life and health catch up on me at times.

The topic for this week at the Card Creative Crew Challenge was texture. Well, where do I start? I have made a gridwork on my Craftroom Workstation, put some holographic pink card through my Wizard with my Swiss Dots embossing folder, I have used one of Jak's lovely blossoms but to get more texture I have screwed them up and inked over them to show the distress/texture, I've added a textured gem coloured with Dufex pens to match, some textured fibres on the side of the and finally the image from Joanna Sheen's Animal Antics CD has plenty of textures - lots and lots ans lots of wrinkles!!!

Paper: Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD and some white card and pink holographic card from my stash
Embellishments: Blossom flower courtesy of Jak Heath, some fibres from my stash and a gem.

Monthly Charity Stall - Amount Made

Feel a little deflated that the stall only made £8 in the week ie £4.00 for the Leukemia Research Fund and £4.00 to replenish my kitty. I shall keep this charity as my chosen one for a while so I can make a donation of £20-£30.
