Through the Craft Room Door Challenge Blog - Guest Designer

I recently won a challenge over at the challenge blog "Through the Craft Room Door".  I was lucky to win some digital stamps but was also offered to be a Guest Designer for a week.  It didn't take me long to say "yes".

The challenge this week on "Through the Craft Room Door" is as usual "anything goes" and you can enter this challenge twice.
This week the sponsor is Sami Stamps.  There is a wonderful array of images on Sami Stamps to choose from.
Here in the UK we don't really go into Halloween but I don't need any excuse to have a "play" with Halloween images so I decided upon this image by Sami Stamps called "Halloween Kittie".  Isn't it wonderful?

I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers.  I then did the background with shades of grey, blue and black chalks and finally inked around the edge with Tim Holtz's Stormy Sky and Black Soot distress inks.

The backing papers are from Summertime Designs which I have printed onto canvas paper for some texture.

A friend last year sent me some die-cut pumpkin shapes so I have used a piece of a blending mat I cut into an arc and my Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge distress inks to make the lines of the pumpkin and finished off with Crushed Olive for the stalks.

I have finished the card off with some spider ribbon, Martha Stewart punched out bats and a Halloween sentiment.

Thank you so much to Deonna and the Design Team at "Through the Craft Room Door" for having me as their Guest Designer for this week.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Penny's Paper Challenge - Anything goes
Ruby's Rainbow - Die-cuts or punches (punched bats and die-cut pumpkins)

Ching-Chou Kuik's Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog - Kym's Inspiration Post - Monday 3 August 2015

Monday has whizzed around again and it is therefore time for me to show you my Inspiration Post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps Monthly Challenge Blog.

Before I do I'd like to remind you that our challenge this month is "a floral display".  This could be that you use an image with flowers, backing papers with flowers, flowers as embellishments or all of these.  It would be lovely if you could take part.
For my card I have used the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamp called "Winter Fellows".  I have coloured the image in with my Promarkers and added Polar White Flowersoft to look like snow on the ground/scattered on the trees/in the sky and for the fur on this little girl's coat.

The backing papers I have used are from my Creative Crafting World "Perfect Companions Christmas CD-Rom".  I have used a freebie border embossing folder to add some texture to the middle of the card.

Unfortunately here in the UK our postage is a lot so it is necessary to try and keep things like Christmas quite thin if you need to post therefore I have kept my embellishment quite low.  These are some die-cut trees/deer, grosgrain ribbon, doily, sentiment and some poinsettia flowers I have made from some pearlescent paper.  I bought a pack of this recently and went for a neutral colour of "orchid" which then meant I could colour with my pens to whatever colour I wanted.  It worked perfectly and gives them a real shine.  I have just added some yellow seed beads to the centre.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

CRAFT - Christmas animals
As You Like It - Two favourite embellishments and why (mine would have to be ribbon and flowers.  Flowers can add such dimension to a card or can even be quite flat.  I do buy some flowers but I mainly make my own so I love that freedom that you can easily match ones you make to what card you have made.  Ribbon - I love ribbon's flexibility as you can lay it flat, tie in knots, tie in bows and even make into flowers)
Cute Card Thursday - Anything goes
Tuesday Throwdown - Your favourite occasion (Christmas)
Digi Choosday - Punches and/or die-cuts
Crafty Gals Corner - Any holiday (Christmas)
Penny's Paper Challenge - Anything goes
The Crafter's Cafe - The great outdoors
Create and Inspire - Anything goes
Inspiration Destination - Anything goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything goes
Crafting by Designs - 3 or more layers
Graph'it - Colour palette or anything goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything goes
Simply Create Too - Anything goes
Little Claire's Challenge - Christmas
Craft Hazelnut Christmas Challenge - Something old (these doilies I have had for 2-3 years.  I didn't want to use as I liked them so much but the time has come for them to be used)
Di's Digi Designs - Use ribbon/lace/twine
Christmas Card Challenge - Photo inspiration (I have gone for the theme of using lots of white for the snow, deer, trees and doily)
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes
Robyn's Fetish - Use a doily
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut Patterned Paper August Challenge - Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything goes
Love to Scrap - Anything goes
Bunny Zoe's Challenge - Shaped cards
Artistic Inspirations - Anything goes
