Commissioned Card for my Son's Workplace

Yet another card for my son's workplace.  I have used two new digi stamps I bought this week as I fell in love with the artwork.  They are FAB and such a dream to work with.  I bought two digi images but I can see that they won't be too lonely for long on my computer!!  The images are Kenny K's and are available to purchase here.  The backing papers I used for this creation are from The Creative Cottage and are lovely.  I teamed it up with some of the flowers with button centres that are from there as well.  The images I have coloured in with Promarkers and then cut the images out with my Nestabilities dies.  The card is finished off with some ribbon and a handbag charm I have had for 1-2 years.  It's good to use things up at times.  I have to leave the card quite plain inside as about 30 people need to sign it!!!

This card fits the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Ice-cream colours (chocolate, vanilla and Strawberry for me)
Paper Play - Something old - the ribbon and the handbag charm
Fun With Shapes and More - Flowery
Paper Sundaes -
Pretty as a princess
Meljen's Designs -
Fibres, ribbon or lace
Incy Wincy -
Music - one of the characters is having a dance to her music on her i-pod
Shabby Team Room - Photo inspiration
Practical Scrappers - Flowers
The Crazy Challenge - All things spotty
Little Paper Shop - Bright and colourful
Stamp Something - Summer Something (these girls are definitely dressed for the summer)
Cutie Sunday - Summer
Daisy Doodles - Summertime.

Card made for Charity Stall

I'm not really sure I should be showing this cricket card - bearing in mind some people might already be fed up with seeing sport what with the World Cup, then Wimbledon starting here this week.  Anyway this card is made from some papers I was given so I don't know the make of them.  I have gone for black, white and silver for a classy Dad card.  I have used some male die-cut decoupage that I got a while back in a sale on Joanna Sheen's website.  I have used a Nestabilities die to mount the card on.  The card is finished off simply with some ribbon and a card ribbon slider.

This card fits the following challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers - Cards for men
A Crafty Little Place - One for the boys
Creative Inspirations - One for the boys
Fab n Funky - Just for dad
Raise the Bar - What a special guy
Craftalicious - Monotone
One Stop Craft - One for the boys
Corrosive Challenge - Black, white and another colour (I chose silver).

Crazy 4 Challenges - Saturday 19 June 2010

Well, I had got this project prepared all week to enter the Sweet Pea Stampers sketch challenge (I have attached it in case anyone is interested on the sketch I followed) - only to find once I'd completed it that the challenge is already closed ready for the next challenge tomorrow but I did work it alongside the Crazy 4 Challenges topic this week of paper flowers.  I have used two K&Co papers I've had for a while and turned this card into a vintage style with the colours I used, some lace, some flowers and finally some pearly gems.  The image is coloured in with Promarkers.  The larger of the two images I have just coloured with Tim Holtz's Antique Line Distress Ink Pad and I have stamped around the edge with some of my See D morsel stamps ad then distressed the edges with Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass Distress Ink Pad.  I have decided to stick some fridge magnets on the back and will stick it my fridge to remind me of my boo-boo of not entering a challenge so quickly.

This project will fit the following challenges:

Bunny Zoe Monthly - Nice and girly
Paper Play - Something old - the little green flowers I have had for ages and ages
Fun With Shapes and More - Flowery
Challenge up Your Life - Vintage
Paper Sundaes - Pretty as a princess
Meljen's Designs - Fibres, ribbon or lace
Crafty Calendar - Bugs and beasties
Our Daily Bread - Flowers - you were given the word FLOWERS and each letter meant something and you had to pick three - I chose f =  flowers, l = lace and s = swirls
By the Cute and Girly - Something old (for me it's the green flowers), something new (cream flowers), something borrowed (idea I borrowed from elsewhere where a stamped image is stamped twice with only a small proportion of the second image cut out and this is mainly the only one that is thoroughly coloured) and something blue(for me it's the blue papers, blue lace and the image was mainly coloured in with blue Promarkers).

Crafty Ann's Challenge No 17 - Friday 18 June 2010

It's time for Challenge No 17 over at the Crafty Ann's Challenge Blog.  The topic this time is embossing - dry, heat or both.  I decided to opt for dry embossing by using my dots Cuttlebug embossing folder with some gold mirri card.  No matter how many times you emboss something with these folders it is just amazing how well it comes out of the folder.  I decided on a red, blue and gold colour combo and used Crafty Ann's embossed dots backing paper in red and blue and the flowers are cut out of Crafty Ann's abstract backing papers.  I have used my Papermania flower template and cut out three different shapes/sizes to layer together.  The card is finished off with a button with cord passed through the middle and a ticket sentiment - from guess where - Crafty Ann's Digi Store.  Click here to have a look at the other Design Team cards.

This card also fits the following challenges:

Cuttlebug Spot - Embossing
Donna's Den - Happy Birthday
Party Time Tuesday - Anything goes birthday
Flourishes - Embossing.

Last Commissioned Father's Day Card

Well, here is the last father's Day card I have been asked to do for someone who works in an office and likes to have a joke.  I knew which CD to grab for - Andy Carolan's Card Toonz CD as I have used this fun little monkey before.  He's decoupaged up and layer simply onto the backing paper on the CD which has little laptops all over it.  The card was finished off with a sentiment off the computer, some office supplies aka paper clips and a personal insert.

This card also fits the following challenges:
Totally Gorjuss - One for the boys
Magical Crafts Fortnight Challenge -
Something for a male/Father's Day
Stampin' Sisters in Christ -
Father's Day/Male card
Cupcake Craft -

Fab n Funky -
Just for dad
CAS-tastic -
Clean and simple Father's Day.

Commissioned Father's Day Card

Another request for a Father's Day card involved clothes, sports and lazing around in bed.  Yikes that had me stumped for a while until I went through my stack of decoupage papers/toppers sheet and this Redhotbed clutter card sheet jumped out at me as it filled all three criteria.  It was a challenge cutting the clutter card out with the bedstead but I got there in the end.  I also kept this one basic so that the decoupage could do all the talking.  The card was finished off with a sentiment off the computer, peel-offs and a personalised insert.

This card also fits the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss - One for the boys
Magical Crafts Fortnight Challenge - Something for a male/Father's Day
Stampin' Sisters in Christ -

Father's Day Card

Here is another commissioned Father's Day card for a step-dad who likes his clothes.  Well, the Redhotbed clutter card came to mind so I cut all the bits and pieces out and put the card very minimally as not all men like lots of things on their cards.  When I handed the card over I was told that I couldn't have picked anything better.  I haven't shown the inside on this one as the verse was too personal.

The card fits the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss - One for the boys
Magical Crafts Fortnight Challenge -
Something for a male/Father's Day
Stampin' Sisters in Christ -
Father's Day/Male card
Cupcake Craft -

Commissioned Father's Day Card

I was asked to make several Father's Day cards and here is one of them.  I have used an Ooh-la-la Creations freebie of a gorgeous seaside scene - oh I wish I was there now!!!  I have used various backing papers from my stash so I am unsure of where they are from.  All I know is that two were digital ones so I apologise to the designers for not knowing where they came from.  That's what happens when you have bits and pieces to use up.  I have used a Double Do die and distressed it with Tim Holtz's Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink Pad.  The card is finished off with some ribbon, card candy and an insert designed on the computer.

This card fits the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss - One for the boys
Magical Crafts Fortnight Challenge - Something for a male/Father's Day

Birth of my Great-Niece

Well my great-niece decided to come into the world today weighing 7lbs 6oz.  She has been called Summer Aniah Victoria.  I'd also got an order for a commissioned baby girl card and was awaiting the birth details for this to go on the card but this morning I put together this card and the one for my great-niece.  Maybe I knew she was coming today eh?  We are hopefully going to see her later in the week as mum and baby are being kept in for a few days.

I have used a mixture of images/papers from Joanna Sheen's Baby Love CD and My Craft Studio Celebrations Cd.  I have made the card 8x8 as I like this size when doing an important card such as this.  I have decoupage the teddy on the front to add some dimension.  The card is adorned with a flower display (think I need some private tuition by Joanna Sheen as my display isn't very good but that's the best I could do.  The card is finished off with a sentiment off the computer, ribbon, some metal footprints, pink safety pin and a baby pram charm.

This card fits the following challenges:

Tuesday Taggers - All that blooms
Spoon Full of Sugar - Floral delights
My Time to Craft - Xtra Special
Creative Cottage - Going pink
Creative Inspirations - Babies
Crafts and Me - Friends and Family.

Commissioned Birthday Card

I was asked to make a birthday card for someone who likes birds.  I used another image my friend stamped out for me.  It's a gorgeous image but took a while to colour in but certainly worth it.  I covered the whole thing with Glossy Accents and left it overnight.  The next day I cut it out, rather randomly, and added a black Promarker edge to it.  The backing papers are bits and bobs of pieces that I have been given.  I think the red one is K&Co.  the card is finished off with some buttons I have had for years, some polka dot ribbon I got in some blog candy last year, a Crafty Ann's Digi ticker and some Papermania Glitterations.

This card fits the following challenges:

Pollycraft - Ribbon and bling
Tuesday Taggers - All that blooms
Everybody Art - Things with wings
All That Scraps - Buttons and ribbon
Stampin' Royalty - Photo inspiration
Your Next Step - Buttons
Stamp Something - Happy Something
Lots to Do - Birds/wings.

Commissioned Birthday Card

Over at the Stamp Something Challenge the topic this week is "happy something".  I was asked to make a birthday card so I thought "happy birthday" would fit this challenge.  I have used a stamped image that a very good friend of mine stamped for me when I went to visit her for the first time a few weeks ago.  I have coloured the image with Promarkers and Copics.  I then put Glossy Accents onto it and left overnight.  The next day I cut the sections up and edged each section with a black Promarker.  I like the glossiness (if that's a word) of the image.  I have used backing papers I was given so I am not sure where they are from.  The card is completed with some Crafty Ann's Digi Store flowers, a Marianne Designs scroll out of gold card, a ticket sentiment from Crafty Ann's Digi Store, three gems and I have added some faux stitching and some doodling with a fine line black marker.

This card also fits the following challenges:

Tuesday Taggers - All that blooms
Everybody Art - Things with wings
Sweet Stampin - Doodling
Lots to do - Birds/wings.

CRAFT Challenge Blog Hop Winner

Recently I took part in the CRAFT Challenge Birthday Blog Hop and to my delight I was the winner.  The GORGEOUS goodies arrived yesterday and they are sooooooooooo yummy.  The papers are delightful and will need to be kept a short while before using as they are "a glistening hint of summer" and my do they glint.

Thank you so much CRAFT for picking me as the winner.  I shall put ALL of these goodies to good use for my cards that I make to sell to raise funds for different charities.

Sweet Pea Stamper Challenge - Monday 7/6/10

Over at the Sweet Pea Stamper Challenge this week the topic is "aqua and brown".  I've used this combination a few times and liked it.  I have used my favourite stamp at the moment - Ching-chou Kuik's Forest Blue Sweet Pea Stamp (Sweet Pea Stamps available at Crafts and Me).  I'm not sure why she is my favourite stamp at the moment.  I have coloured her in with Promarkers and have even given her cool aqua and standstone brown hair.  I cut around the image and mounted the image onto two of my new Nellie Snellen dies, one of which I have distressed with Tim Holtz's Brushed Crdhuroy Distress Ink Pad.  The flower backing sheet I have stamped myself with my Romantic set of See D's Morsel Stamps in various shades of blue and various shades of brown.  I then decided to get really messy and got out my Dawn Bibby Golden Glitz Shimmer Spray.  I liked the sheen so I punched two different shades of brown off-cuts (the papers are from Crafty Ann's Digi Shop) and also spritzed them as well.  The card is finished off with 3 aqua grommets, fibre, Marianne Designs flower, gem, two butterflies cut from some backing paper and a tag sentiment.

This card also fits the following challenges:

Sir Stampalot - Punch it
Crafty Angels - Favourite stamp
Lots to do - Birds and wings
Everybody Art - Things with wings.
